Chapter 5: The Assault Squad Arrives!
“All right.”
Yu Fei stepped out of the room.
Alice’s eyes immediately brightened.
With his tall, upright figure, handsome appearance, and a wild yet sharp aura, Yu Fei now exuded an irresistible masculine charm.
“I didn’t expect you to be in such great shape,” Alice couldn’t help but compliment.
Yu Fei glanced down at his bulging muscles and said, “I wasn’t always like this…”
“Are you Chinese people all this humble?”
“Not really.”
Yu Fei shook his head slightly. He was just speaking honestly.
But Alice clearly didn’t see it that way; she found his modesty quite appealing.
“Hmm? I feel like you’ve gotten taller?”
As they drew closer, Alice suddenly sensed something strange.
She sized Yu Fei up from head to toe, finally realizing the oddity seemed to lie in his height.
“Really? Maybe it’s because I’m wearing shoes, so I look taller.”
Yu Fei’s expression remained unchanged as he spoke casually.
“Is that so?”
Alice glanced down at her high heels with a curious look.
Before she could ponder further, suddenly—
Bang!!!
The sound of shattering glass rang out.
A fully armed assault team burst in.
“Don’t move!”
“Hands up!”
Beams of electric light fixed Yu Fei and Alice in place.
Though Yu Fei’s fighting skills and physical condition had reached a world-class level, he had no choice but to obediently raise his hands against the fully automatic submachine guns pointed at him.
“Who exactly are you?”
Alice shouted.
James Sheard, the assault team leader at the front, signaled with a glance. The only black woman on the team, Rain Ocampo, silently stepped forward.
Ignoring Alice, she walked straight behind Yu Fei.
“You damn pretty boy! Get down on your knees!”
Rain spat low and kicked toward Yu Fei’s back elbow.
“Hmph?”
Yu Fei furrowed his brows slightly.
He had planned to just go along with Alice, but being told to kneel right away seemed a bit rude.
Yu Fei sidestepped and turned behind Rain.
At that moment, Rain’s kick missed, leaving her slightly off balance.
Seizing the chance, Yu Fei snatched the submachine gun from her hands and aimed it at her head.
“Don’t move!”
“Shit!”
“Stop!”
The assault team members all focused on Yu Fei, guns trained on him.
Unfortunately for them, Yu Fei had positioned himself behind Rain, using her as a human shield.
The team hesitated, unwilling to fire.
“Who are you really? Why are you here?!”
James’s face was stern as he spoke.
He had already gone through the laboratory personnel list before coming, and there wasn’t a single handsome Asian man on it!
“Who am I? Don’t you know?”
Yu Fei sneered.
“Huh? What do you mean? Are you a corporate spy? Which company sent you? Life Sciences Inc.? Osborn Group? Or another?”
Captain James frowned.
Just as Yu Fei was about to reveal his Interpol identity, his expression froze.
Life Sciences Inc.?
Osborn Group?!
The latter was the infamous super-biotech corporation from Marvel, known for creating Spider-Man and a host of supervillains—Doctor Octopus, Lizard, Electro, Green Goblin, and more—all products of the Osborn Group.
In the entire Marvel universe, the Osborn Group was a legendary name.
But the problem was...
‘I thought I had crossed into the Resident Evil world? How come Osborn Group is here too? Just a coincidence of names?’
Yu Fei’s thoughts raced, but he quickly recovered and said with a bitter laugh,
“Why don’t you say I’m from Stark Industries?”
It was meant as a test, but Captain James seemed to take it seriously.
“You’re from Stark Industries? But Stark Industries focuses on military tech, when did they get into biotech?”
‘There really is a Stark Industries!’
Yu Fei was stunned.
Once could be coincidence, but twice?
‘So, I haven’t crossed into just the Resident Evil world, but a composite of multiple cinematic universes? American series?’
Various thoughts flashed through his mind, but he suppressed them one by one.
For now, the priority was to solve the immediate problem.
“Enough! Stop beating around the bush!”
Yu Fei’s face grew cold as he said,
“I’m with Interpol! Need I say more?”
“Interpol?!”
The assault team stirred.
Though they were formally dressed and better equipped than most official armed forces, they were still a private security team.
Facing the genuine authority of Interpol, they felt somewhat intimidated.
“Quiet!”
Captain James hissed sharply, then took a deep breath and addressed Yu Fei.
“You say you’re Interpol? Can you show your credentials? Also, this is private property. Even if you are Interpol, you need a search warrant to enter. Do you have one?”
Clearly, Captain James was a seasoned veteran, knowing how to handle official organizations.
Interpol wielded great power, but in this land of the United States, corporate influence was equally formidable!
This area was the core zone of Umbrella Corporation, and getting in or out wasn’t a matter of mere words.
Not even for Interpol!
“I don’t have a search warrant!”
Yu Fei was perfectly calm, and spoke with undeniable confidence.
I don’t have a search warrant—so what can you do about it?
Captain James frowned again.
How to deal with an Interpol agent without a warrant? They couldn’t just kill him, right?
Although Umbrella Corporation was powerful, outright killing an Interpol agent would be a serious matter!
“Since you don’t have a warrant, please leave!”
Captain James made the call.
Get this Interpol agent out of here!
As for what to do next... that was for Umbrella’s higher-ups to handle.
“Heh.”
Yu Fei chuckled coldly.
“You really think we can leave this place now?”
