Under the watchful eyes of everyone present, Captain James could only grit his teeth and respond. In front of Yu Fei, the so-called 'Interpol agent,' to claim ignorance was simply to underestimate him. After all, these human experiments were the doing of the Umbrella Corporation, and had nothing to do with them, the mercenary security personnel. Even if responsibility were pursued, the result would be merely a cover-up—nothing too serious.

The squad exchanged glances, unanimously shaking their heads. Such classified matters were clearly beyond their clearance.

"They’re researching the T-virus!"

"The T-virus?!"

Expressions shifted among the group. The name itself sounded ominous.

Indeed, Yu Fei’s next words confirmed their suspicions.

"It’s an RNA virus. You might not understand the technical details, so let me put it simply—those infected with this virus turn directly into zombies!"

"Zombies?!"

Everyone gasped in disbelief. In this world, there was no such thing as a biological outbreak, yet these bioweapon monsters still existed, and were quite infamous. The instant they heard the word, they understood its implication.

"Do such creatures really exist?"

Someone murmured, dazed.

"I don’t know if they existed before, but the Umbrella Corporation did develop this virus, and real zombies have already been created!"

Yu Fei spoke.

"Are you saying there are zombies in this very laboratory?"

Captain James couldn’t help but ask.

Upon hearing this, others also turned their gaze to Yu Fei.

He didn’t answer immediately but looked down thoughtfully and said meaningfully:

"Not only are there zombies, but if my guess is correct, this ‘accident’ this time might be directly related to those zombies!"

"Shh!!!"

Everyone drew a sharp breath.

Kaplan couldn’t help but comment:

"No wonder the Red Queen is on a rampage, so that’s why..."

Captain James promptly cut him off.

The Red Queen’s information was Umbrella’s secret! In this era, artificial intelligence was truly the pinnacle of cutting-edge technology, the core of every tech company. Although they suspected Umbrella had abandoned the AI, Captain James still upheld his duty—not to leak the corporation’s secrets.

"Don’t be so tense; it’s just an AI. I know it well, don’t I, Red Queen?"

Yu Fei smiled and greeted the camera above and to his right.

The camera’s red light flickered, always fixed on Yu Fei; even the assault squad’s arrival hadn’t diverted its focus.

"It’s been watching us all along!"

Salinas said with a stern face.

"Kaplan, can you shut down this surveillance?"

Captain James turned to Kaplan.

He was the computer expert of the squad and the key player in this mission. Only he could take over the laboratory’s internal network at the critical moment.

Kaplan pulled out a device slightly smaller than a tablet and after some operations, shook his head.

"No, the Red Queen has cut off all external access points. I’d have to get inside the lab and reach its control room to seize control."

"Can’t you take over then?"

Captain James was disappointed.

Taking over the monitors was secondary—it wouldn’t affect the overall situation. The key was that if they could hack in, they might access the Red Queen’s data and verify Yu Fei’s claims.

At that moment, Yu Fei suddenly spoke.

"Is it possible to connect to an outside network here?"

To be honest, if he could, he preferred neither to face Umbrella’s armed forces nor enter the underground lab crawling with zombies. Although either choice would earn him considerable merit points, the risks were immense.

‘If I can reach the outside world, I’ll pull in the Stark Group, Osborn Group, even S.H.I.E.L.D.—all of them!’

In a typical bioweapon crisis world, contacting the outside wouldn’t help much; the government was deeply entangled with Umbrella. Even if the media got wind, Umbrella would suppress it.

But this was no ordinary bioweapon crisis.

Both the Stark Group and Osborn Group wielded immense influence here.

And S.H.I.E.L.D. needed no introduction—though now nicknamed "Snake Shield," its power remained formidable.

With their involvement, whether Umbrella could be destroyed was uncertain, but at least their scheme to cleanse and dominate the world with the T-virus would be thwarted.

Unfortunately, reality crushed idealism.

Kaplan, the tech specialist, gave a blunt answer.

"The signal here’s been cut off completely. No one can contact the outside world!"
