Fu Yanchen watched helplessly as Shen Mengxia was taken away by men in black, consumed by burning anxiety.

Shen Mengxia had just returned, after all, and remained completely clueless about many things.

Even more critically, ever since the tragic passing of his grandfather, Shen Mengqing had cut off all contact with everyone in the Fu family for quite some time.

Recalling the information Jiang Zeyu had gathered over the years and the fact that Shen Mengxia had just been addressed as the Second Young Miss, Fu Yanchen strongly suspected that the mysterious family he and Jiang Zeyu had been investigating was none of other than this Shen family.

Without hesitation, Fu Yanchen dialed Jiang Zeyu’s number.

The call connected. "Zeyu, it's me, Fu Yanchen! Xixia is back. The moment we met, she was taken away by a group of men in black who called her the Second Young Miss," Fu Yanchen stated briefly, explaining the situation.

"Don't panic yet. I'm coming over to find you right now, and we'll talk face-to-face," Jiang Zeyu said calmly.

Before long, Jiang Zeyu hurried over. The two men exchanged no polite pleasantries upon meeting, diving straight to the point.

"Based on my years of investigation, I suspect that the mysterious organization behind that car accident and assassination in Country T previously is connected to an internal power struggle within the Shen family," Jiang Zeyu began.

Fu Yanchen frowned. "What do you mean?" Jiang Zeyu handed him a document. "This is what I recently uncovered. After the old master of the Shen family passed away, the family business faced division. The eldest branch has always wanted to swallow everything up, while the second branch—which is Shen Mengxia's family—lacks influence. It is very likely that people from the eldest branch abducted her to threaten the second branch."

Fu Yanchen clenched his fists. "No matter who it is, if they dare to touch Xixia, I will never let them off. What is the background of this Shen family? Why hasn't anyone in our circle ever heard of such a figure before? And how did Xixia suddenly become the Second Young Miss of the Shen family?"

"As for that, I haven't quite figured it out yet, but Shen Mengqing and Shen Mengxia are indeed biological sisters; there's no doubt about that. Once we find Shen Mengqing, things will be much easier to handle," Jiang Zeyu continued his analysis.

Driven almost to the point of madness, the two men mobilized every single network and various channels within their reach, sparing no effort in their relentless search for Shen Mengqing's whereabouts.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Shen Mengxia found herself inside an exceptionally spacious and luxurious villa.

Although the villa provided her with an abundance of food and drinks, complete with a full array of entertainment facilities, it felt nothing more than a lavish cage to Shen Mengxia. She had been stripped of the most precious thing of all—her freedom!

No matter which corner of the villa she wandered to, a group of expressionless men in black tailored suits would follow like shadows, sticking closely by her side. Their presence filled Shen Mengxia with an overwhelming sense of oppression, making her feel as though her every move was under intense surveillance.

Shen Mengxia knitted her brows tightly, her mind tangled like a mess of disordered threads, filled with countless questions and a profound sense of unease. Yet, no matter how hard she racked her brain, she could not seem to find a way out of her current confusing and thorny predicament.

As night quietly descended, at dinnertime, the man who claimed to be Shen Mengxia's uncle appeared beside the dining table.

With a placid expression, he placed a thick stack of documents in front of Shen Mengxia and said in an indifferent tone, "Xixia, these are documents prepared so that you can reclaim your status in the Shen family. You need to sign them."

With that, he gently laid a fountain pen atop the papers.

Shen Mengxia cast a suspicious glance at the unfamiliar uncle before her. After a moment of hesitation, she reached out and picked up the stack of documents.

She quickly flipped through the pages, her eyes scanning the dense blocks of text and clauses. Gradually, she realized that the documents appeared to be an agreement for the claiming of an inheritance and the transfer of equity.

"Uncle, these documents are far too obscure and difficult for me to understand. Could I at least let my lawyer look them over first? Besides, before I do any of this, I want to know where my father actually is. Why haven't I seen him anywhere?" Shen Mengxia lowered the papers, looked directly into her uncle's eyes, and asked earnestly.
