Yi Fan nodded. "I am happy."

[Zuo Kerong, you have so much money, yet you only bought me these few things. You are truly stingy!]

"Then you don't have to feel unhappy about what happened earlier, right?"

After they finished their meal and stepped out, her boyfriend had been sulking, claiming she didn't trust him. Now that she thought about it, perhaps the little girl's words earlier were just innocent, thoughtless chatter.

How could the man she had been with for so many years ever hurt her?

On the day her beloved uncle passed away, it was her boyfriend who had stayed by her side, helping her through the most difficult moments. She should trust his character.

Isn't it said that couples should trust each other?

To apologize to him, she had just bought him a large haul of luxury goods in one go.

"My girlfriend buying me so many things just shows how much you value me. Of course, I'm not angry," Yi Fan said, resorting to his usual sweet talk.

[That damn brat ruined the element of surprise earlier and made Zuo Kerong suspicious of me. Fortunately, I'm clever enough to have regained her trust.]

Yi Fan glanced around.

[Sigh, there are so many people in the mall; it's hard to make a move. What should I do to make Zuo Kerong look like a fool, so she’ll fully trust me and hand over all her money?]

Little Su Hua, hearing the wicked uncle's inner thoughts, hurriedly grabbed her aunt's hand.

"Auntie, please go help that lady! That wicked uncle is planning to hurt her again."

Su Xingwan was startled and looked up at them.

Zuo Kerong noticed Su Xingwan and her two children, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes.

"Hello, Auntie!" Little Su Hua liked this lady, so she greeted her.

"It's you two?"

Zuo Kerong had a soft spot for children, especially those as pretty and adorable as these, and couldn't help but reach out to touch her head.

"Little one, we meet again."

Yi Fan saw them again, and his expression shifted.

[Why can't I get rid of this persistent brat?]

With his girlfriend present, he couldn't say much and could only remark, "Kerong, I'm carrying too many things and I'm a bit tired now. Why don't we leave?"

Su Xingwan sensed something was wrong, especially after what little Su Hua had just told her.

She smiled and said, "You two bought quite a lot of things, didn't you?"

Zuo Kerong had intended to leave when her boyfriend said he was tired, but seeing this beautiful woman speaking to her, she replied, "Yes. I misunderstood him earlier, so I bought these things to apologize to him."

Su Xingwan remarked, "He’s truly lucky to have you as a girlfriend."

Zuo Kerong laughed happily. "It's alright. My boyfriend has always been very good to me; it’s only right that I buy him some gifts."

Little Su Hua suddenly looked up. "Auntie, is he really good to you?"

Zuo Kerong was stunned, not understanding the child's meaning.

"Yes, he is."

Little Su Hua asked, "Then why does he always scold you?"

Zuo Kerong froze.

What was this child talking about? When had her boyfriend ever scolded her?

However, Yi Fan's face changed upon hearing this. He felt this little girl was uncanny—how could she know he usually scolded his girlfriend?

Yi Fan feigned a fierce look. "Are you a child who was taught bad habits by your parents? Why are you slandering people for no reason?"

Little Su Hua was frightened, but for the sake of the lady's safety, she bravely said, "I'm not slandering you! You are planning to hurt this lady!"

Little Su Hua looked at the wicked uncle, puzzled. "And the lady is so kind; she bought you so many things. Why do you still want the lady's money?"

She blurted out all of the wicked uncle's inner thoughts.

Zuo Kerong and Yi Fan's expressions changed simultaneously. Yi Fan was terrified; Zuo Kerong was shocked and bewildered.

Yi Fan hurried to intervene. "Shut your mouth, you brat!" He then glared at Su Xingwan. "Keep your children under control! Don't lie here about things you have no proof of!"

"My sister is not lying! She has a superpower—she just knows about the bad things you’ve done!" Little Su Luo stepped forward to protect her sister and her aunt.

Su Xingwan, however, said, "Sir, are you lashing out like a cornered animal because my child hit a nerve?"

Turning back to Zuo Kerong, she said calmly, "Miss, I didn't intend to interfere in your affairs, but Hua-bao is kind-hearted and truly believes your boyfriend intends to harm you. Whether you take her words seriously or as a child's prank is up to you, but I still suggest you look into what your boyfriend has been doing in secret lately. Otherwise, don't say we didn't warn you if you end up losing both your money and your partner."

At these words, Zuo Kerong was shaken, as if she had suddenly woken up.

Yi Fan, seeing his girlfriend believing them, hurriedly said, "Kerong, don't listen to them! They are just after your money!"

Zuo Kerong was no longer as easily fooled as before.

"They don't even know me; how would they know I have money?"

"I... I..."

Zuo Kerong's face went cold. "Yi Fan, I'll give you one last chance to prove yourself. If you truly have no intention of harming me, hand me your phone."

Yi Fan's expression flickered. His phone was full of flirtatious messages and despicable remarks he’d made about his girlfriend to his "bros." How could he let her see it?

Seeing him stuttering and reluctant to move, Zuo Kerong understood everything.

When they first started dating, he had said that for the sake of mutual trust, neither of them should check the other's phone. But now, it seemed there was another reason.

Seeing him burdened with bags and unable to maneuver, she quickly snatched the phone from his pocket.

"Kerong!"

With that, Zuo Kerong unlocked his phone.

To gain her trust, he had used her birthday as the passcode. She had once thought it meant he loved her deeply, but now she realized he had simply been certain she would never check his phone.

She opened his messaging apps to check his recent chat history. What she saw was devastating—the app was filled with flirtatious messages to other women.

The more she read, the more horrified she became, until she could barely breathe.

"Yi Fan! You scumbag!" Zuo Kerong threw the phone at him in a fit of rage.

She couldn't accept the reality. The boyfriend she thought loved her so dearly had been having passionate affairs with other women behind her back. Not only that, but he had been coveting her money the entire time and even slandering her to his friends.

Seeing that he could no longer keep up the act, Yi Fan sneered, "Zuo Kerong, I lost interest in you a long time ago. If it weren't for your uncle passing away and leaving you a huge inheritance, I would have dumped you ages ago."

"You monster!" Zuo Kerong roared.
