Volume One, Chapter 12: Taming the Azure Dragon Gang!
After the initial shock, Xu Wei clenched his teeth against the searing pain coursing through his body and repeatedly begged Qi Wuxie for mercy.
On the other side, Wang Shan's face turned deathly pale, his eyes brimming with boundless terror. He immediately dropped to his knees before Qi Wuxie.
“I... I submit too! Don’t kill me! I submit as well!” Wang Shan cried out in fear, desperate to avoid death at Qi Wuxie’s hands.
Even Xu Wei was no match for Qi Wuxie. In the entire East District, there was likely no one who could stand against him!
Though Wang Shan wasn’t a martial artist, he had followed Xu Wei closely and understood some matters concerning martial artists.
In the realm of martial artists, a Grandmaster was akin to a god!
In the sprawling Yun City, there had never been any rumor of a Grandmaster’s existence.
Qi Wuxie gazed down at the kneeling Xu Wei and Wang Shan, a slight smile playing on his lips. Yet, to the two men, that smile was utterly terrifying.
“Submit? No, you’re only fit to be my lapdogs!”
“From now on, you will do whatever I command, understood?”
“Understood! Understood!” Xu Wei and Wang Shan nodded fervently.
Their dread transformed into reverence in that moment, leaving no room for resentment.
“If anyone from the Zhou family comes looking for you, break both their legs and throw them out. Got it?” Qi Wuxie continued.
Upon hearing this, Xu Wei and Wang Shan exchanged glances. The former hesitated, “Sir, do you really want us to break their legs? After all, that’s the Zhou family…”
The Zhou family was currently at the height of its power in Yun City. Even the old, prestigious families gave them some measure of respect.
Though the Azure Dragon Gang was a faction cultivated by the Zhou family, they were not the only force under their influence.
There were other martial artists like Xu Wei whom the Zhous supported—many even stronger than him.
“What do you have to fear with me around?”
“Besides, didn’t I just tell you something?”
Boom—
Qi Wuxie snorted coldly, sensing their loyalty was not yet absolute.
A surging aura swept through the hall like a mountain pressing down on everyone present. Xu Wei and Wang Shan were especially overwhelmed, collapsing onto the floor with a thud.
“Mercy, sir! Mercy! We won’t dare again!”
“We swear, whenever the Zhou family shows up, we will break their legs and throw them out!”
Fear etched deep in their expressions, they begged desperately.
At that moment, a profound reverence for Qi Wuxie took root in their hearts—a reverence that transcended life and death.
“Good. Remember what you said.”
Qi Wuxie smiled, then released a burst of energy from his fingertips, channeling it into Xu Wei’s body.
Xu Wei froze in astonishment, feeling a miraculous power flow within him, rejuvenating his organs and tissues instantly.
Within seconds, his injuries were completely healed.
“M-Master, what is this?” Xu Wei looked up at Qi Wuxie in shock.
Qi Wuxie’s gaze was indifferent. “Since you work for me, I can’t let you die. Without this treatment, your energy would have dissipated within three days.”
“Bring that guy over as well.”
Saying this, Qi Wuxie turned and plopped down on the sofa.
Xu Wei’s eyes showed a mixture of shock and fear. After a moment, he trembled, “Those still alive, get up and carry Wang Nan to the master.”
The members of the Azure Dragon Gang lying on the ground hastily rose and brought the near-death Wang Nan forward.
Under the astonished gazes of all, Qi Wuxie once again invoked the “Six Desires of the Evil King” technique. Within seconds, Wang Nan’s injuries were completely healed.
“I... what just happened?” Wang Nan awoke, utterly bewildered.
Moments ago, he felt like he’d seen the King of Hell. How was he suddenly alive again?
Smack!
Xu Wei slapped Wang Nan’s head. “It’s the Grandmaster who healed you. Aren’t you going to thank him?”
Hearing this, Wang Nan snapped to attention.
Grandmaster?!
He turned to look at Qi Wuxie, noticing the reverent gazes of the Azure Dragon Gang members and Xu Wei and Wang Shan still kneeling.
Even with his slow reaction, he now understood.
Qi Wuxie was a Grandmaster!
“T-Thank you, Grandmaster! Thank you for sparing my life!” Wang Nan knelt down, fear evident in his expression.
“Hmph, just be careful in the future and you’ll be fine,” Qi Wuxie said flatly.
“Everyone else except you three, leave now.”
Qi Wuxie commanded, and the other members of the Azure Dragon Gang immediately exited the hall, leaving only Xu Wei, Wang Shan, and Wang Nan.
“Master, is there anything you need us to do?” Xu Wei asked respectfully.
“Nothing special. I just want to ask—who was responsible for killing my father in prison?”
“Your father?”
The three men exchanged uneasy glances.
“Qi Lianshan.”
Qi Wuxie named his father.
Shortly after his father was imprisoned, rumors spread that he had confessed and committed suicide.
But Qi Wuxie knew his father would never admit to false charges, nor would he take his own life in prison.
After extensive inquiries, Qi Wuxie learned that the Zhou family had ordered the Azure Dragon Gang to carry out the deed.
“Qi Lianshan?!”
Upon hearing the name, Xu Wei’s pupils constricted sharply, suddenly recalling exactly who Qi Wuxie was.
Cold sweat poured down his forehead as he dropped to his knees. “Master! Our Azure Dragon Gang was involved in framing your father back then.”
“But your father’s suicide in prison had nothing to do with us!” Xu Wei said, panic-stricken.
He finally understood why Qi Wuxie had come to the Azure Dragon Gang—and why he had killed brothers Zhao Xiong and Zhao Hu!
“Nothing to do with you?” Qi Wuxie’s brow furrowed.
Xu Wei hurriedly replied, “Master, I swear I’m not lying!”
“After your father was imprisoned, our men planned to go to the prison to cause trouble for him, but the Zhou family stopped us.”
“Your father’s suicide was absolutely unrelated to us—it was the Zhou family’s doing. As for the details, I don’t know.”
Xu Wei poured out everything that had happened five years ago.
Upon hearing this, a murderous light ignited in Qi Wuxie’s eyes.
“It seems the only way to find out how my father really died is to go after the Zhou family!”
After his father died in prison, he was cremated immediately, and Qi Wuxie never even saw his body—only his ashes.
The hall fell into a deathly silence.
The three men dared not even breathe, beads of sweat rolling down their faces.
After a long moment, Qi Wuxie stood.
“It’s late. That’s all for today.”
“I’ll come again another day. Remember—don’t disobey my orders, or I’ll make it so you won’t even be able to die if you want to!”
The three nodded repeatedly, hastily saying, “Master, rest assured, the Azure Dragon Gang will be your dogs from now on, loyal only to you!”
“See you off, Master!”
Qi Wuxie clasped his hands behind his back and left the clubhouse.
After he had gone, the three men’s bodies slackened, and they collapsed to the ground.
Wang Shan, still shaken, felt as if he had just walked through the gates of the underworld.
“Damn, today was truly thrilling!”
