Chapter Twenty-Four: On the Eve of the Recruitment Fair

The successful manipulation of iron ore prices had finally silenced the major shareholders and established the authority of Lin Chu, Li Fengyu, and their team. With the company's accounts now flush with a significant influx of capital, they could finally begin the process of hiring new staff. When Lin Chu arrived at the office today, his spirit was visibly different from before. As soon as he stepped into Li Fengyu’s office, he exclaimed, "Hahaha, Fengyu, we can finally let go and go all out! With the support of the shareholders, the staff, and now the capital, the company's prospects are looking brighter than ever."

Watching Lin Chu in such high spirits, Li Fengyu couldn't help but feel a sense of shared joy. Although the recent negotiations had nearly collapsed—a thought that still made him shudder—he too was filled with confidence now that they were free to pursue their ambitions. Li Fengyu stood up, leaned against his desk, and asked with a smile, "So, we can finally put our plans into action. But where do you intend to start?"

Lin Chu smiled at this and pulled a long scroll of a proposal from his briefcase. "Behold, the first installment of the Xinmin Group’s Super-Duper-Ultra-Fantastic Revitalization Plan!"

Li Fengyu was taken aback. "My dear President, just how big are you planning to go? You have to eat one bite at a time and take things one step at a time."

Hearing this, Lin Chu sheepishly tucked away the long scroll and produced a second document. "Then look at the second installment of the Xinmin Group’s Super-Duper-Ultra-Fantastic Revitalization Plan."

Amused by his antics, Li Fengyu burst into laughter. "Do you think you’re Doraemon? How can you come up with something so ridiculous?" Li Fengyu leaned in to glance at the second proposal. It was filled with pages of text, but the core could be summarized in four words: Recruit new talent.

Lin Chu said, "We talked about this when we were chatting at the entrance last time. We must cultivate our own loyalists; only then will things move forward smoothly and efficiently."

Li Fengyu nodded in agreement. "True, we certainly need to hire a new batch of people. But what do you think the criteria should be? Should we prioritize academic credentials, personally interview and select the clever and quick-witted, or focus mainly on obedience and loyalty?"

Lin Chu stroked his chin, lost in thought. "Those with high academic qualifications are often troublemakers and hard to manage. Clever and quick-witted people are fine, but I fear they might be too calculating. Obedience and loyalty are ideal, but if they’re too dense, that creates a different kind of headache."

"Leave it to me. I have a plan." Hearing this, Li Fengyu and Lin Chu turned around to see Li Sen approaching. Li Sen smiled slightly and said, "I’ll handle it. It’s just hiring new staff, isn’t it? I served on the student council back in school; I have a way of handling recruitment."

Li Fengyu and Lin Chu exchanged glances and nodded. "Very well, you handle it. You will be the lead examiner tomorrow, and Lin Chu and I will be the assistant examiners."

Li Sen gave a thumbs-up. "OK."

Lin Chu asked one final question: "So, Secretary Li, how do you plan to test them?"

Li Sen answered with ease, "I’ve prepared three tests to evaluate them. Rest assured, when the day comes, I will definitely satisfy you both. I’ll be sure to give you a big surprise."

Li Fengyu waved his hand jokingly. "A-Sen, can we really count on you? Don’t just let people in because they’re good-looking."

Lin Chu laughed heartily. "Exactly, exactly! That’s a real possibility."

Li Sen replied sheepishly, "How could you say that? How could you think of me that way?" The day ended amidst the lighthearted banter of the three.

However, as to what method Li Sen truly intended to use to select talent, neither Li Fengyu nor Lin Chu could have imagined that the recruitment event two days later would not only provide them with a massive surprise but that this specific decision would fundamentally shape the future direction and development of the Xinmin Group.
