Chapter 29: How Did You Figure That Out?
The entire hall fell silent, with everyone’s gaze fixed on the giant screen.
Lin Zixuan was bewildered at first, feeling a strange sense of familiarity with the scene, but when he saw the face of the girl on the screen, he went completely blank.
"Aju, hold on a little longer. I’ll be able to get that woman’s card soon... She’s a streetwalker anyway; do you really think her money is clean? It’s even dirtier than mine! That woman is completely submissive to me now. As soon as I get her card, I’ll quit my job immediately and take you home..."
Everyone in the hall stared at the screen, and many recognized the man. Suddenly, jeers and insults erupted from all sides as countless people pointed at Lin Zixuan on the screen, cursing him relentlessly.
"What a piece of trash! I thought I was a scumbag, but I never expected to see someone even more ruthless than me!"
"Who is the woman he’s talking about? How pitiful! To be targeted by a subhuman like this—she’s lost her heart and her fortune!"
"Sis, is this the 'handsome guy' you were talking about? You have a crush on this piece of filth? You even wanted to introduce him to me—I wouldn't want him even if he were free!"
Lin Zixuan felt as if his world had collapsed. Pale-faced, he looked at Xiangxiang and said with a trembling voice, "Xiangxiang, listen, let me explain. It’s not like that. I actually..."
Xiangxiang did not speak. She simply stood there, staring at the screen, her entire body shaking. Just as Lin Zixuan rushed over to grab her hand, she recoiled as if struck by an electric shock, pulling her arm away and shouting, "Don't touch me!"
Lu Xiaona walked over, embraced her friend, and looked coldly at Lin Zixuan. "From this moment on, get out of SK. I do hire people, but I don't hire animals. And by the way, return every cent that Xiangxiang gave you!"
Lin Zixuan looked at Xiangxiang’s indifferent eyes, then at the surrounding crowd. He gritted his teeth, his expression darkening. "She gave me that money willingly; why should I return it? Yes, I said those things, so what? Did I force her? It was mutual consent. If she was stupid enough to fall for it, what does that have to do with me?"
I watched him and easily guessed his mindset. Since everything was already ruined—he had lost his job and his reputation was completely stripped bare—he might as well play the villain to the end.
But a few words from Lu Xiaona shattered him completely.
"Fine, if I don't ask you, I'll ask that woman instead! Don't you want to go back and marry her? I will play this footage at your wedding for all your friends and family to see! That woman shouldn't be hard to find, right? Wearing a uniform—she must be an employee at the supermarket near the back entrance, right?"
Lin Zixuan fell apart. He knew Lu Xiaona's character; if she said she would do it, she certainly would. "No! This has nothing to do with Aju! She knows nothing! I did it all by myself! I will return the money to you, I beg you, please don't hurt her!"
Tears slid down Xiangxiang’s face. She turned her head and said to Lu Xiaona, "I don't want to see him again. Let him go."
Lu Xiaona nodded and said to Yang Zhi, who was standing nearby, "Squad Leader Yang, please have him take off our uniform and throw him out immediately! And toss his uniform into the trash can!"
"Understood, Ms. Lu!" Yang Zhi nodded, beckoning two of his men. In a few swift motions, they tore the uniform off Lin Zixuan, hoisted him up, and dragged him toward the exit.
Seeing this, several female customers grabbed the bottles in their hands and hurled them at him. He became a target of public outrage, pelted by a barrage of bottles, cups, and all sorts of trash, dragging the two security guards down with him as they rushed him out.
Once the matter was settled, I looked at the three women. It was rather amusing. The three socialites, who had been intimate friends and equally arrogant just moments ago, now treated each other like carriers of a plague, avoiding one another and preparing to slip away.
Noticing my gaze, the wild-looking woman looked flustered and, putting on a brave front, said, "Kid, you’re spreading rumors about me here. I won't let this slide!"
I sneered without bothering to argue. My work for the night was done; whether this woman believed me or lived or died was none of my business.
What truly concerned me was my left eye. Something felt wrong. In the past, if I had used my left eye this much, I would be covered in blood by now, and I might have even gone blind. But now, aside from a dull ache, I touched the corner of my eye several times, and there was not a drop of blood—not even a tear. Is this the benefit of becoming a junior Qi practitioner?
The wild-looking woman’s face turned pale; she wanted to say something, but she seemed to have lost her nerve. Instead, the plain-looking woman walked over and asked me point-blank, "How did you figure it out?"
I said coldly, "Does it have anything to do with you? Listen, you don't need to overthink it. As long as you don't provoke me, I have no interest in exposing you, let alone wasting my time with you. Understood?"
Chen Yinan had returned and handed me my phone.
"Ms. Lu, thanks for tonight. We’re heading out!" I said to Lu Xiaona, careful not to mention that we were hired by her and Xiangxiang, to avoid any unnecessary trouble. Lu Xiaona nodded without saying another word.
As I walked out with Chen Yinan, the plain-looking woman’s persistent voice followed: "I haven't told anyone this secret. How on earth did you know?"
I ignored her and kept walking.
Lu Xiaona said to the three women, "Sister Zhang, Sister Jin, Sister Huang, care to sit in my office for a bit?"
The plain-looking woman said impatiently, "That person is your friend, right? How is he so eerie? Do you know him well? Come on, let's go to your office now!"
I didn't care where they went. I left SK with Chen Yinan and tossed him the car keys. "You drive. I need to close my eyes and rest for a while."
Although my eyes weren't bleeding, they were throbbing with pain, and it felt as if something were pressing down on my head, making me feel dizzy and extremely uncomfortable.
The reason I knew the plain-looking woman's secret was simple: her body was filled with the Qi of many different women.
Male and female Qi are not the same. Through my left eye, the world appears chaotic and blurry. People look like glowing entities; that Qi energy forms a person’s silhouette, and each possesses unique attributes in terms of color and scent. When I observe people with my left eye, I don't just see their Qi; I can smell its "scent" and distinguish their gender. I don't know how to describe the difference, but the accuracy is one hundred percent—there are no approximations.
The Qi within the plain-looking woman proved only one thing: everything she showed her friends was a facade; the only thing that truly interested her were women.
As for the fat woman and the wild-looking woman, it was even easier. Under my Qi-gazing eye, the Qi of a sick person is entirely different from that of a healthy one. It isn't just a change in color, but more importantly, a change in the "Qi-scent." This scent cannot be smelled with a nose; it can only be sensed through the Qi-gazing eye. The patient's Qi forms various stagnations, and the illness manifests exactly where that stagnation occurs, making it very easy to identify.
Although the fat woman and the wild-looking woman were both ill, one had a relatively "simple" Qi-scent, while the other was mixed with too much male Qi. The nature of their respective illnesses was clear as day.
I am not a doctor, and I don't know the names of these diseases. But with my Qi-gazing eye, I can locate the source of an illness faster and more accurately than any medical instrument.
