Shen Nianchi didn’t look at her, gripping the bread slice tightly.
What should we do now?!
Wen Zhi didn’t know how to handle the situation; all she could do was try not to anger him.
Her small hand trembled as she looked at him and asked dryly, “So, where are the three of us going?”
He was silent for a moment, then coldly spat out an address: “Mount Jixue.”
The production team had just sent the location.
Wen Zhi went upstairs to get her sunglasses, while Shen Nianchi got into the car first.
Wei Yuan sat in the driver’s seat, Shen Nianchi beside him in the passenger seat. The atmosphere between them was somewhat awkward.
Shen Nianchi ignored his presence and closed his eyes to rest, but Wei Yuan felt extremely uneasy. He turned his head to look out the window, a self-mocking smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Shen Nianchi’s sudden appearance had caught him completely off guard, leaving no time to react and disrupting his plans entirely.
But now he had to stay calm.
He couldn’t admit defeat; he couldn’t let Shen Nianchi ruin everything alone.
Taking a deep breath to steady his emotions, Wei Yuan turned toward Shen Nianchi, his face regaining its usual composure. “Teacher Shen, do you like Wen Zhi?”
Hearing this, Shen Nianchi slowly opened his eyes and glanced at him indifferently. “Does it concern you?”
A smile played on Wei Yuan’s lips as his tone relaxed. “We’re alumni and friends. Shouldn’t I care about her? After all…”
Shen Nianchi frowned.
“Teacher Shen seems to like her quite a lot,” Wei Yuan added.
At that moment, Shen Nianchi’s gaze fell on Wen Zhi, who was just coming out the door holding sunglasses and a mask, walking toward the car.
Wen Zhi caught Shen Nianchi’s eye and hurried over.
Seeing this, Wei Yuan chuckled and asked Shen Nianchi sideways, “Looks like I guessed right.”
“Who I like is none of your business. I hope you never show up in front of her again,” Shen Nianchi said, his tone not very kind, edged with coldness and sharpness.
Wei Yuan didn’t mind. He shrugged. “Teacher Shen, so confident?”
Shen Nianchi said nothing.
Then Wen Zhi got into the car. Sensing the tense atmosphere, Wei Yuan stopped his playful smirk, sat upright, leaned back, and quietly stared ahead.
The car drove smoothly.
Wen Zhi glanced here and there, feeling the atmosphere heavy.
Neither Shen Nianchi nor Wei Yuan spoke all the way.
After a while, they arrived at Mount Jixue.
Page 2/3
It was a beautiful place, with sea clouds on the mountains and stunning scenery.
As soon as they got out of the car, they were captivated by the view, as if transported to a heavenly realm, breathtakingly beautiful.
None of the three spoke, silently admiring the scenery.
Unlike yesterday, this live broadcast was accompanied by the crew the entire time.
The broadcast had already begun.
After a moment, Wen Zhi touched her nose softly and whispered, “There’s a ski resort here. Let’s go skiing…”
Shen Nianchi looked up and glanced around. “Alright.”
Wei Yuan also didn’t refuse.
The production team led the three up the mountain along a long, wide staircase winding upward, with a pavilion visible at the peak.
After about half an hour, they reached the ski resort halfway up the mountain.
But to ski, they had to complete a challenge: Shen Nianchi and Wei Yuan had to compete for the spot.
Both were experienced skiers; Wen Zhi was a novice. Whoever won would teach Wen Zhi.
A perfect chance to build rapport.
The two competed in a ski race: the first to reach the bottom of the mountain would win, best two out of three rounds.
If they lost, the challenge failed, and punishment would follow.
After warming up, the two prepared to start while Wen Zhi was asked to wait below.
Wei Yuan and Shen Nianchi stood at the starting line. “3, 2, 1, go—”
As soon as the countdown ended, Shen Nianchi took off.
Very quickly, the distance between them grew. Wen Zhi watched from the bottom, surprised to see Shen Nianchi moving like a swift leopard.
When did her brother learn to ski?!
Wei Yuan was not far behind. Though slower, his movements were fluid and nearly matched Shen Nianchi’s.
They skied from the top to the bottom, navigating snow slopes, snowy fields, and towers, finally reaching the finish line.
Both had close calls; Wei Yuan nearly fell several times but managed to stay upright.
First round: Shen Nianchi won.
The second round tested speed.
They had to ski straight down from the highest point, racing to the base. Whoever arrived first would win.
Wen Zhi felt Shen Nianchi would likely win again—her intuition told her so.
Shen Nianchi’s speed was much faster. They both started from the peak, taking less than ten minutes to reach the bottom.
Wei Yuan caught up near the end, and they arrived almost simultaneously, but Shen Nianchi was slightly faster.
Second round: Shen Nianchi won.

So the result was clear.
Wen Zhi looked at Shen Nianchi approaching at the foot of the mountain, a bit dazed. “You can ski?”
“Yes,” Shen Nianchi replied calmly.
“…”
Can he?
Had he been secretly learning without telling her?
Shen Nianchi reached out and took her hand. “Alright, let’s go. I’ll teach you to ski.”
“Okay.”
Wen Zhi nodded obediently, handing her hand to him. Their fingers intertwined tightly.
The production crew was filming; the paparazzi were surely gone by now.
Nearby, some crew members whispered, “Wei Yuan lost. There’s a punishment for losing!”
One of them said, “Yeah! What kind of punishment? We discussed this before…”
“We have to wait for the director’s decision!”
They murmured among themselves.
Wei Yuan sat on a bench, watching the two walk away, feeling a bitter sting. Just a little more, just that much!
On the conveyor belt, Wen Zhi noticed a couple nearby. The girl looked a bit scared, and the boy kept soothing her, reassuring her to relax, ski slowly, not rush, and stay safe.
They were affectionate, radiating a sweet atmosphere.
Seeing this, Wen Zhi suddenly felt a pang of sourness.
Because her relationship with Shen Nianchi would never be that of boyfriend and girlfriend.
She liked him, but he would never like her…
Reality dawned: this show was the final chapter.
Wen Zhi looked down at their joined hands. Shen Nianchi held hers, his gaze fixed on the distant scenery.
His expression was unchanged, silently leading her along.
At the ski area, he whispered in her ear, “Take it slow, don’t rush…”
Wen Zhi nodded.
At first, she was a little flustered, but as she adapted, she became increasingly skilled.
