Volume One, Chapter 29: Lilies, Pure Love
Wei Yuan nodded. "Alright then, take care on your way back. Let’s have a meal together another day."
She smiled, biting her lip. "It’s fine, senior. Really, it’s fine."
As she spoke, Wen Zhi looked toward the man standing nearby. "Should I pay you for that water?"
The man watched Wei Yuan and the others drive away before turning his gaze to Wen Zhi. "Sure!"
After Wei Yuan and Jiang Youyou left, the surroundings gradually quieted down. The two of them emerged from the convenience store, chatting and laughing.
"You studied abroad for four years, and your Chinese is this good?" Wen Zhi looked at the handsome mixed-race man beside her, filled with curiosity. He spoke fluent Chinese with no accent at all—it was incredibly standard.
The man smiled and handed her a bottle of water...
Nangong Wan saw the bedroom door before her vanish instantly, and she found herself on the edge of a river of blood. A chill gripped her heart as she turned to look at the twisted monster.
Just as that person finished speaking, massive sandstorms appeared on the light screen. It turned out that this Madam Yang and the so-called Young Master Yang were actually Shi Weiyi and Yang Daya from Suiye in disguise. However, the child in Yang Daya’s arms was indeed their biological son.
Michael Ovitz had spent two days in Tokyo with the acquisition team assisting Sony in the purchase of Columbia, and he returned in a hurry today. One had to realize that the Daenerys Entertainment Group, which was set to formally file its IPO application next month, was rumored to have a valuation reaching $40 billion. Given the entertainment giant’s dominant position in Hollywood, its market value after going public would surely be even higher than its valuation.
Martin had drawn a line for the King: this much is all there is. The meat is gone, but the bones remain—take it or leave it?
"If they lose this time, the four of them will be out ahead of schedule. I don’t think they would take such a risk," the others shook their heads and sighed.
The handwriting was delicate and elegant, retaining an antique charm, yet the content was extremely concise and carried a faint, cold indifference.

Ye Lingwei was also stunned. The conversation was filled with talk of "Chairmen" this and "Chairmen" that. Lu Chuan’s business had only been running for a little over half a year; calling himself a General Manager was already gilding the lily—how had he been promoted to Chairman?
Hearing that she was to be helped with dressing, Xu Xianxian instantly woke up. She scrambled to pull a dress from the wardrobe and finished changing in a flash.
He had spent the day killing, constantly reaching his limits. Although he had reached the peak of the Black Iron rank and gained over five hundred energy points, he was truly exhausted.
Little did he know, when Wang Ming heard this, he was incredibly envious and couldn’t help but look at Chen Feng with even greater regard.
Shen Jing slapped her forehead in distress, feeling as though she had nowhere to hide her face. What was this guy Mo Wen trying to do now?
Now that Zhao Jingxue’s reputation was ruined, who else could she marry besides Uncle Nanba? Could she possibly marry a man even wealthier than him?
"In the recent period, a total of twenty-two 'Juezhang' crossbows have been produced, in addition to eighteen 'Bozhang' crossbows," Qin Ming reported. He knew his lord had always valued the Juezhang crossbow, so he paid close attention to them.
About forty minutes later, the lunch at Bai Chun’s house finally came to an end. Even Bai Xinxing, who usually started eating first and finished last, had finished his meal and headed upstairs early.
Su Lili didn’t know Uncle Nanba personally, but she had investigated his background and seen his photos on the computer several times. The moment she saw him, she recognized him.
Chen Naifu certainly knew; he could recognize a person he had lived with for twenty-one years by their silhouette alone from afar, but he couldn't understand why Chen Yi would appear here.
As he spoke, he raised his foot and stomped heavily on the chest of the person beside him, then kicked with such force that the man slid away like a ball, hitting the wall before bouncing back to the ground.
"Thanks to Mr. Lu, otherwise we wouldn't have known what to do," the butler sighed.
Just as Suda Ertie returned to Shi Le’s camp, a letter was delivered once again.
His clothes were tossed carelessly on the floor, and he scratched at his skin like a madman.
However, the next sentence on the sky screen left the simple emperors of the Song, Sui, and Tang dynasties dumbfounded.
Penglai Haoyun stared intently at Ning Yechen and took the initiative to request a mission from Penglai Fusheng beside him.
Before the scarred man could finish his sentence, Mo Yan threw the wooden stick in her hand. It struck him squarely in the mouth, turning his unfinished words into a scream.
Qin An’an was somewhat swayed. She felt that Mu Yanxu was right: everything must be taken one step at a time. One shouldn't be afraid of trouble; one must at least take the first step to try.

Because the content on the sky screen this time concerned the imperial examinations—specifically, such an eye-catching matter as examination fraud.
Looking at the food on the grill, the Qilin Ancestor chuckled. He waved his hand, using magic to seize the two shrimp soldiers from earlier, and killed them with a single icy glare, revealing their true forms as two giant sea shrimp.
It was the first time Xiang Yun had seen her Fourth Brother so clever. She couldn't help but look twice, only to notice the red-clad man’s gaze passing over the crowd and landing straight on her face.
Although the barrier she had set up with her current cultivation wasn't particularly powerful, it was certainly enough to block anyone below the Heavenly God realm.
Bashan Shi saw Ning Jiu’er nearby and, intending to bring the two together, said, "Sect Leader, why not let Miss Ning accompany you? Although her martial arts aren't high, those venomous snakes and insects of hers are very powerful. Holding back a few experts would be no trouble at all, and it would put our minds at ease." Pei Jinyuan and Bashan Hu both agreed heartily.
"Talk to me. What should we talk about? Anything, really—like asking my name or what I like to eat," Xi’er whispered softly, her tenderness flowing like water.
Liu Qing’s heart softened. Such a good man was right by her side, yet she had never been able to hold onto him. If she let this excellent man slip away now, she didn't know when she would ever meet another one as outstanding as Xiao Yunfei.
Park Mi-yeon smiled awkwardly and unlocked the handcuffs for Tang Feng, after which Tang Feng began the treatment.
At that moment, Long Jianfei’s phone suddenly rang. Without looking at the caller ID, he knew exactly who it was, for he only assigned that specific ringtone to crucial people.
Ugh, the venomous snake tilted her head and looked away from Lin Yumeng. Preparing a tent when traveling was enough—why prepare a bed? Did she think she was setting up a permanent home? Was this supposed to be a cultivation journey or a vacation?
The Black Wolf hadn't noticed the move, and under the momentum of his own lunge, he swayed. Simultaneously, Long Jianfei rolled away from the Black Wolf’s control, but he did not stop there.
Lin Fei gave a half-smile and said, "Is that so?" She didn't press the issue, instead walking over to help Ye Jingsi up and applying some medicinal powder to her back.
"Fine, you choose." Lin Qingxuan watched with a dark expression as Lin Yumeng dove back into the pile of dresses, her arms trembling slightly.
"What fault is mine? The one who is wrong is him," Deng Lin insisted, ignoring his Fourth Brother’s nervous expression.
Qian Wan turned the car onto the highway, her focus entirely on the speeding. Seeing the sky growing increasingly dark, she pressed her lips together tightly.
