Wen Zhi’s steps faltered slightly as she hurried to catch up with Qin Yi, feigning composure as she said, “Blushing? It’s because the wind outside was so strong just now... That’s why.”
Hearing her reply, Wei Yuan was momentarily taken aback; he saw the nervousness clearly and seemed to understand something.
He then smiled gently and followed behind.
Pushing the door open, the three saw Shen Nianchi seated on the sofa. Beneath his light gray trench coat, he wore a solid-colored V-neck sweater that highlighted his noble and elegant bearing. His long legs were crossed casually, exuding an air of leisure.
He held his phone, his fingers idly scrolling over the screen, thin lips curling into a faint, mysterious smile.
“Hello, Teacher Shen,” Qin Yi greeted with a smile and waved at him. Shen Nianchi finally lifted his head, his gaze falling first on Qin Yi and then on Wen Zhi standing behind her.
At that moment, his eyes brightened; his deep gaze shimmered with a fleeting radiance that went unnoticed by others.
Wen Zhi’s heart pounded fiercely the instant she met his gaze; her mind went blank, and she stood frozen as if someone had struck a vital point on her body.
Qin Yi stepped forward excitedly, smiling as she said, “Teacher Shen, I’m your fan... No, no... You’re my idol... You’re even more handsome in person than on TV. Can we take a photo together?”
She babbled nervously, her cheeks flushed, while Shen Nianchi’s expression remained composed.
He stood, hands in pockets, wearing a faint smile. “Sure.”
“Oh, wonderful!” Qin Yi nodded eagerly, handing her phone to Wen Zhi in a lowered voice, “Help my sister take a good picture.”
Wen Zhi took the phone, somewhat absent-mindedly, and replied, “Okay.”
Qin Yi and Shen Nianchi stood together, her posture stiff, her smile forced.
Shen Nianchi wore a gentle smile the entire time, maintaining some distance, yet his eyes never left Wen Zhi.
Wen Zhi took many photos for them, feeling uneasy under his intense gaze, and finally said, “That’s enough.”
Qin Yi took the phone, checked the photos, and was very satisfied.
Just then, Shen Nianchi suddenly asked, “Aren’t you going to take a photo too?”
Wen Zhi was startled, then replied, “I, I’m not your...”
Before she finished, Qin Yi interrupted, “She wants to! Of course she does! She’s your loyal fan, Teacher Shen.”
Wen Zhi glanced sideways at Qin Yi, thinking, Can’t you just keep quiet for once?
Shen Nianchi’s lips curved upward, a ripple of emotion flickering deep in his eyes. “Alright.”
With that, he stepped toward Wen Zhi.

Qin Yi compliantly stepped back, finding the best angle for the photo.
“Come closer, Shengsheng, tilt your head a little, don’t stare so stiffly at the camera.”
Following Qin Yi’s instructions, Wen Zhi awkwardly obeyed.
Her movements were clumsy yet inexplicably endearing. The slight tilt of her head as she leaned in caused Shen Nianchi’s heart to skip a beat.
When the flash went off, Wen Zhi’s body stiffened suddenly, almost instinctively raising her head to meet his gaze.
In that moment, Wen Zhi felt as if she had fallen into a trap, unable to break free. Shen Nianchi’s eyes were so deep they seemed to capture her very soul, and she dared not move an inch.
His gaze remained fixed on her face without blinking.
Wen Zhi felt breathless, quickly lowering her eyes to avoid his stare, then straightened and looked away.
Qin Yi on the other side was enthusiastically taking photos, “Shengsheng, what are you doing? I’ve only taken one shot.”
“...”
Though helpless, Wen Zhi complied. Qin Yi happily took a few more pictures before finally releasing them both.
Wei Yuan’s gaze swept over Shen Nianchi, then settled on Wen Zhi, his thoughts becoming even more certain.
Qin Yi was completely oblivious, her mind solely focused on fangirling. She pulled a black marker and notebook from a pocket on the wall and handed them to Shen Nianchi. “Teacher Shen, can you sign this for me?”
“Sure,” he replied, taking them. Suddenly remembering something, he pulled out his car keys. “Director Qin, could you help me with a favor? I left a gift box in the car, and it’s a bit heavy...”
Shen Nianchi looked at Wei Yuan. “Could you help? The parking lot is swarmed with fans...”
“Of course!” Qin Yi nodded eagerly and hurriedly led Wei Yuan away.
In the vast office, only Shen Nianchi and Wen Zhi remained.
He looked at Wen Zhi, “Loyal fan?”
His tone was teasing, the softness in his eyes even stronger.
Wen Zhi was startled again, her heart racing, but a vague unease crept into her mind.
For some reason, she felt his gaze was too... intense.
She hesitated, then shook her head, telling herself she was overthinking.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Shen Nianchi’s eyes, but he quickly resumed his indifferent expression. “What a pity.”
“What’s a pity?” Wen Zhi asked, puzzled.

Shen Nianchi murmured, “Shengsheng doesn’t like her brother...”
“What?” Wen Zhi didn’t catch his words clearly and asked instinctively.
He smiled and shook his head, then reached for the scarf draped over the sofa back and bent down toward her.
“...Huh?”
“Help your brother put this on.”
At those words, Wen Zhi instinctively took the scarf he handed her and helped him wear it.
The distance between them was less than a fist’s length.
She caught a familiar scent, her heart quickened, and she held her breath, her body tensing with nervousness.
Shen Nianchi looked at the face so close before him, noticing the faint blush on her cheeks, and found her unbearably adorable.
He pursed his lips and smiled softly, eyes filled with fondness. “Thank you, Shengsheng. Was that the person you like just now?”
Looking at them, he thought, not so great after all.
But he couldn’t let her fall deeper into the trap; after all, the man was already married.
Upon hearing this, Wen Zhi looked at him in shock, then quickly stepped back and straightened up. “Ah... no... Senior Wei Yuan... just a friend...”
Why was he suddenly interested in who she liked?
But his smile was so captivating that she couldn’t look away.
Wen Zhi licked her lips unconsciously, her cheeks burning even hotter.
“Brother’s coming to pick you up tonight?” he teased gently.
Wen Zhi’s cheeks flushed deeper. She bit her lip, “No need to trouble him. Qin Yi will give me a ride.”
Shen Nianchi hummed in response. Before Qin Yi and Wei Yuan returned with the items, he left.
Isn’t the married man that person?
Then who else among the other three guests?
There seemed to be one who was divorced...
No, as her brother, he must do something. He couldn’t let Shengsheng keep making mistakes!
