Chapter 31: Dark History
After meticulously finishing her creation, Fu Siqiao finally handed the painting to Zhang Chenxi with a flourish, coolly saying, "There!"
Zhang Chenxi took the painting, his eyes widening instantly and his mouth falling open in an exaggerated expression, as if he had just seen the most terrifying monster on earth.
"You little liar, is this drawing supposed to be this ugly?" he shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice dripping with mock grief.
Fu Siqiao rolled her eyes dramatically, crossing her arms over her chest with a look of utter disdain.
By now, the commotion in the hall had reached the kitchen. Many chefs emerged, their faces filled with disbelief as they heard what had happened.
The wind swept over, and she swayed gently with it, controlling the parachute cords, dancing gracefully in the air. The air between heaven and earth merged with her being; humanity and nature became one. She felt moved, exhilarated, and yet, a profound sense of peace filled her heart.
"Bakayaro! These wretched Chinese are like persistent ghosts! Just how many of them are there on the mountain?" Ryota Nagata growled, his face twisted in rage.
After speaking, he set his bowl down on a nearby table and began to wolf down the food, ignoring the searing heat.
"Whatever happened to our food standards?" someone asked, feigning casual curiosity to the soldiers nearby as they ate.
Lan Chengfeng’s eyes were bloodshot, his madness evident. The full moon hanging high above was stained with a crimson hue in his gaze, appearing like a blood moon.
Under the stubborn resistance of the Japanese soldiers, many brave warriors fell during the charge, sacrificing their most precious lives for the great cause of resisting Japan.
Fortunately, Number Two was busy handling this, and he only needed to wait for Number Two to make contact again.
"Has there been any movement from the Cao Legion?" Li Feng rubbed his temples, where strands of white hair were faintly visible at his sideburns.
"Baka! These damned Chinese are truly cunning," Major Watanabe could not help but curse.
"An Immortal?" Dugu Sheng raised an eyebrow; he knew a thing or two about that title.
But the situation was different now. Even though he knew he was in the wrong, he could not bring himself to tolerate the arrogance in Xuanyuan Hongjun’s words.
"Why should I, Chen Changan, need to explain my actions in this life to the likes of you?" Chen Changan looked coldly at the crowd, his voice indifferent.
Even Feng Miao and Du Shengjie, standing hundreds of meters away, heard it clearly, as if Bai Jing were whispering directly into their ears.
Although the twin-winged saber-toothed tiger was chasing at what was merely a "jogging" pace for it, the man in the black robe ahead was in total despair as the distance between them slowly closed.
"It’s fine. Come, I’ll take you somewhere fun. I guarantee you won’t have any conditions to bargain with," Huangfu Mingyu said deliberately, seeing Du Aobai trying to be slick.
Because his left eye could see much further, Chen Changan was like a fish in water here, passing through without any obstacles.
This was the road-building crew; Zhao Feng intended to connect the quarry to the tribe. This dirt road was about 10 kilometers long and one meter wide.
Zhao Feng felt the martial inner energy within his body becoming increasingly refined, with an added surge of violent force circulating through him, generating even more powerful inner strength.
Before the nun could enter, Yuqing hid behind the door. The moment the nun hurriedly turned to run out and call for help, Yuqing took the teapot she had hidden and smashed it hard against the back of the nun’s head.
Sun Shangxiang’s steps were unsteady, her body swaying. Wang Zhe quickly held her up, fearing she would collapse from the overwhelming shock.
Watching the car drive away, Xuelian still felt a bellyful of unvented anger. She spat out a curse and was about to leave with Zhicheng, only to find the sidewalk completely blocked by parked cars. To leave, they would have to detour onto the motor vehicle lane, which was extremely dangerous.
The topic shifted abruptly to the person Xie Zhixin had arranged to meet. She didn't react at first to the mention of a classmate, but then she jolted, suddenly remembering the excuse she had fabricated.
