Chapter 69: Liu the Celestial Fairy: Heh, Men
"Huh?"
Liu Shishi and Gulnazar were both inwardly astonished.
Their own absent-mindedness indeed had quite a bit to do with Zhang Yang.
Was Tang Yan spacing out because of him too?
"Because of me?" Zhang Yang looked at Tang Yan and asked, feigning ignorance, "Sister Tang, you aren't still holding a grudge about me lecturing you on acting, are you?"
"That's right!" Tang Yan immediately jumped on the chance, calling herself lucky in her heart.
She certainly couldn't blurt out the truth that she had dreamed of Zhang Yang last night, playing out role-playing scenarios in her dream where they became a bickering couple.
"Does my acting need you to teach it?" Tang Yan raised her delicate chin. "I graduated from the Central Academy of Drama, and I'm your senior."
Without changing his expression, Zhang Yang stuffed a peeled egg into his mouth, chewed and swallowed it, took a sip of soy milk, and then said leisurely, "Calm down, Sister Tang. It was just me saying the wrong thing that day."
With that, Zhang Yang peeled another egg and placed it in Tang Yan's bowl.
"That's more like it." Tang Yan took the out she was given and didn't make a fuss.
After her brief observation last night, she realized that Zhang Yang's acting skills were far superior to hers.
Without needing too much professional critique, just look at Liu Shishi—whose acting had always been on par with hers—who had managed to nail her scenes in a single take the previous night under Zhang Yang's lead, with every micro-expression and movement hitting the exact right note.
"Sister Shishi, your spacing out surely had nothing to do with me, right?" Zhang Yang smiled at Liu Shishi.
Looking at this handsome face so close at hand, Liu Shishi involuntarily swallowed, the tips of her ears starting to turn red.
Dugu Ningke and Yuwen Tuo getting married and having a child was a premise set in the script, but no specific scenes had been scheduled for it.
Yet the dream she had last night had expanded upon this setting, complete with full details.
She made excuses for herself, convincing herself that these were experiences from a past life.
After searching the internet, however, she concluded that she simply had a crush on Zhang Yang.
Otherwise, upon having such an embarrassing dream, her first reaction should have been to wake up in a startle rather than enjoying it—
"Ahem." Realizing her thoughts were wandering off again, Liu Shishi immediately made an excuse. "Of course it had nothing to do with you. I just stayed up too late reading the script last night and wasn't fully awake yet."
"Then you need to drink some coffee, Sister Shishi. You and I have scenes together this morning." Zhang Yang immediately showed his concern.
Liu Shishi found this deeply comforting, a faint smile blooming on her face. "I'm not good at brewing coffee. Make me a cup."
Her cool and aloof voice seemed to carry a hint of unusual reliance.
Tang Yan glanced at Liu Shishi without a trace.
Out of a woman's intuition, she felt that her close friend's attitude toward Zhang Yang was somewhat extraordinary.
"Alright, I'll make you one." Zhang Yang didn't refuse. "Does Sister Shishi like it bitter or mild? Do you like it milky?"
Instinctively thinking of Ningke's bitter life, Liu Shishi gently shook her head. "I don't like it too bitter."
"Understood. Watch me work after you finish breakfast." Zhang Yang flashed a confident smile, then looked over at Gulnazar, a playful tone coloring his voice, "Nazar, you weren't spacing out just watching these two older sisters and copying them, were you?"
Gulnazar met Zhang Yang's gaze, her eyes shimmering. "I was spacing out because of you. I dreamed of you last night."
Zhang Yang: "..."
This woman was truly bold; she actually dared to say whatever was on her mind.
Fortunately, he had exercised self-control and hadn't confirmed a relationship with Nazar before joining the cast, otherwise...
"You dreamed of Ah Yang?!" Tang Yan's eyes widened in surprise, her pitch rising involuntarily.
Dreaming about him—was this actually a group phenomenon?
No, it had to be a coincidence. After all, the dream she had experienced was rather out of the ordinary.
Liu Shishi also looked at Gulnazar, a flash of doubt in her eyes.
"I wouldn't exactly say I dreamed of Brother Yang." Gulnazar tucked a strand of hair behind her earlobe and said generously, "It must be because I've been studying the script nonstop lately, so I dreamed last night that I turned into Xiao Xue."
"Maybe it's because Brother Yang and I are quite familiar with each other, so the dream was just filled with stories about what happened between us after he turned into the Sword Obsessed."
Gulnazar didn't think there was anything unspeakable about the contents of her dream.
The relationship between her and Zhang Yang was separated by nothing more than a single layer of window paper waiting to be poked through.
If Xiaoao hadn't been in her room that night, that final layer might have already been broken through.
Upon arriving at the set, she discovered that Zhang Yang also had very good relationships with Tang Yan and Liu Shishi, which spiked her sense of crisis.
She instinctively brushed aside the fact that Tang Yan and Liu Shishi were both major stars, purely projecting her own feelings and assuming they might also fancy a man as exceptional as Zhang Yang.
So speaking the truth now also carried a bit of open flirtation and a declaration of "sovereignty."
"You even dreamed about the content of the script?" Tang Yan's pitch shot up once more.
Dreaming about him could be called a coincidence, but having the exact same style of dream was pushing the limits of coincidence, wasn't it?
"Yeah." Gulnazar beamed with a bright smile. "My acting skills lately have all been learned from Brother Yang; I'm using the experiential method. With this dream helping me out, I'm definitely going to nail my performance."
When she made a cameo appearance in *The Imperial Doctress* last time, she had already considered herself a naturally gifted player.
Now, it seemed she wasn't wrong at all!
"Well... that's kind of impressive." Tang Yan thought for a moment, ultimately deciding not to mention that she had dreamed as well.
She always felt this whole affair was rather bizarre.
Watching this scene unfold, Zhang Yang felt a mixture of emotions.
He hadn't expected the dream-entry feature from last night to be so overwhelmingly effective, pulling all three female leads right into it.
Even less did he expect that this tiny breakfast would nearly expose the secret of dreaming to experience roles.
He wasn't afraid, though. Even if the actresses found out that acting opposite him might trigger a dream-experience role, it would only benefit him.
Anyone with even the slightest ambition regarding their own acting skills would find it impossible to turn down such a "cheat code" of an opportunity. They would only want to collaborate with him more, making him the most sought-after commodity in the industry.
It wasn't as if they had to sleep with him just to enter the dreams; in fact, for many female celebrities in the circle, sleeping with him to unlock a "cheat code" was something they would gladly welcome.
Of course, Zhang Yang wouldn't proactively mention or promote it, let alone expose the Entertainment Industry Opportunity Manual.
He had to let them discover the "stroke of luck" on their own, make them feel they were taking advantage of him, and prompt them to seek him out voluntarily.
Me? Zhang Yang? I'm completely the victim here.
"Sister Tang is right, Nazar, you're pretty amazing," Zhang Yang said, following up on Tang Yan's remark. "Could this be what they call natural talent?"
"Maybe it's just my own illusion." Gulnazar waved her hand somewhat sheepishly.
The four of them, each harboring their own secret thoughts, chatted back and forth casually.
However, thanks to Zhang Yang's presence, the three women stopped spacing out and managed to finish their breakfast.
The equipment and ingredients at the five-star hotel's buffet were fully stocked. Zhang Yang went over to the coffee machine and brewed a "raw coconut latte" for Liu Shishi—something that counted as a unique, innovative creation for the time.
"Hey, this is good!" Liu Shishi took a small sip, her eyes instantly brightening. "It feels even better than any coffee I've had before."
"Is it really that exaggerated?" Tang Yan thought Liu Shishi was flattering Zhang Yang way too much.
"Try it yourself." Liu Shishi poured a little into a cup for Tang Yan and shared some with Gulnazar as well.
Both women picked up their cups, took a tentative sip, and their eyes lit up.
Neither of them liked bitterness, and this sweet, milky-flavored concoction was indeed quite wonderful.
"Ah Yang, make me a cup too." Tang Yan immediately looked at Zhang Yang.
"Brother Yang~" Gulnazar kept it to just two words.
"Sure." Naturally, Zhang Yang wouldn't refuse.
Two fresh raw coconut lattes were quickly crafted and served.
Neither Tang Yan nor Gulnazar rushed to drink them; instead, they both started taking pictures of the cups from various angles.
Liu Shishi silently glanced at the cup in her hand, raised her head, and looked at Zhang Yang. "How about you make me another cup?"
Zhang Yang: "..."
Heh, women.
Five minutes later, Zhang Yang transformed mentally into the classic meme of the subway old man looking at his phone.
[Liu Yifei]: Heh, men.
Heh your sister!
