Chapter 41: Exchanging for Treasures
"Alien warship wreckage?" Luo Feng noted this to himself.
A few minutes later, the blood-red Honghuang-class fighter jet crossed thousands of miles, traveling from Jiangnan Base City to Hongning Base City, and slowed down above a massive, ten-thousand-meter-long spacecraft structure.
Looking down, Luo Feng was stunned by the technological behemoth, which spanned ten thousand meters in length and stood a hundred meters high.
"Is this a real spaceship or a fake?" Luo Feng couldn't help but wonder.
The fighter landed before the massive airlock. With no time to speculate further, Luo Feng leaped from the cabin and landed on the ground.
A woman in a black uniform approached from the airlock. She smiled and said, "Luo Feng, the Master sent me to bring you in. Please, follow me."
Luo Feng followed her through the airlock.
"Beep!"
"Welcome, War God Luo Feng."
A cold, electronic voice echoed.
Seeing Luo Feng’s surprised expression, the woman in black smiled and explained, "Master Luo Feng, only a very few high-ranking individuals in headquarters have the clearance to enter and exit freely. If anyone tries to enter without authorization or the Master's permission, they will be eliminated by the defense system... Even an official-level powerhouse cannot withstand an attack from this system; they would be killed instantly."
Instantly killed an official-level powerhouse? Luo Feng wasn't particularly shocked by this. After all, the laser cannons humans produced could kill King-level monsters, so why wouldn't the defense system of a suspected alien warship be even more powerful?
Following the woman deeper into the ship, the two finally stopped outside a quiet door.
"Please, go in, Master Luo Feng," the woman said, gesturing for him to enter.
Luo Feng took a deep breath, pushed the door open, and stepped inside. Instead of luxury, he found a space of about two hundred square meters with nothing inside but two cushions placed in the middle.
A thin, black-haired man sat cross-legged on one of the cushions. Upon seeing Luo Feng, he pointed to the cushion opposite him and said calmly, "Sit."
"Yes."
Subconsciously, Luo Feng obeyed and sat down silently across from the man.
Hong studied this "peerless genius" who had suddenly appeared, while Luo Feng studied the man known as the strongest on Earth.
Before meeting Hong, Luo Feng had imagined what kind of man he would be. Now that he saw him, only one word came to mind: "Powerful."
Under the weight of the man's invisible, overwhelming presence, Luo Feng felt like an ant facing a dragon. A sense of powerlessness flooded his body, leaving his mind feeling muddled.
*Not good.* Luo Feng snapped out of it, biting the tip of his tongue to clear his head with the sharp pain. He looked at Hong again, a flicker of shock and doubt in his eyes.
At that moment, he finally understood why "Bai" had said that even if he increased his strength a hundredfold, he wouldn't be able to withstand a single move from Hong. Just the pressure of his aura alone was enough to affect him, a peerless War God! This was terrifying!
"Luo Feng, don't be discouraged. This guy is at the sixth level of the Planetary stage. His base strength and mental intensity are over a hundred times yours. Moreover, he has mastered a 'domain' that even Universe-level powerhouses might not grasp. It is normal for such a huge gap to exist. Never mind you, even an ordinary ninth-level Planetary stage powerhouse in the universe would have no chance of survival against him."
Bai Chen’s voice echoed in Luo Feng’s mind. He didn't want Luo Feng to lose his confidence.
However, Bai Chen had underestimated Luo Feng. Not only was he not discouraged by the massive gap, but a raging fire began to burn in his heart—an urgent, burning desire to become stronger.
"...You are quite good."
Seeing that the young man with the still-youthful face had recovered so quickly from his mental influence, and that his eyes were now burning with "fighting spirit," a flicker of surprise crossed Hong’s typically calm face.
"Your name is Luo Feng, right... Tell me, what have you come to trade?" Hong smiled faintly. Although he was slightly surprised by Luo Feng's mental resilience, someone with his level of spiritual cultivation rarely lost his composure.
Straight to the point? Luo Feng took a deep breath, regained his composure, and said in a deep voice, "Master Hong, take a look at this."
As he spoke, a jar appeared in his palm, filled to the brim with bright red blood pills.
Hong’s eyes narrowed. A storage treasure? Could this young man have discovered a treasure from an unexplored ancient civilization?
Hong felt a slight stir. Storage treasures were incredibly rare; he possessed the only space ring on Earth, which he had obtained from a dangerous ruin. He hadn't expected to see a second one. Pushing these thoughts aside, he focused on the jar in Luo Feng's hand.
Luo Feng poured out a pill and tossed it to Hong, who caught it and began to sense it carefully.
"There is a very pure energy inside this pill." Hong looked up at Luo Feng. "Is this what you want to trade?"
Luo Feng nodded slightly, then shook his head. "This is just one type; there are others."
"For example, that storage treasure of yours?" Hong asked curiously.
"...That is not for trade at the moment." Luo Feng shook his head. He didn't actually have a storage treasure; it was Bai's ability. Because he frequently had to ask Bai to collect monster carcasses, he had once asked if Bai could create storage rings. Bai had explained that space in the universe was very solid, and creating a space ring required a massive amount of energy. He told Luo Feng not to worry—once he obtained an actual space ring for Bai to analyze and collected some spatial materials, he could manufacture extra-large storage rings with very little energy consumption.
"Very well." Hong felt a tinge of regret. His brother, Thunder God, didn't have a storage treasure, and he had hoped to get one for him. But since Luo Feng was unwilling, he wasn't one to force others.
Holding the red pill between two fingers, Hong swallowed it and carefully sensed its effects. With his powerful mental strength and his ability to see within himself, he could perfectly track the changes in his body.
The blood pill melted rapidly, turning into a stream of pure energy that flowed through his limbs, bones, and organs, strengthening his flesh and cells. However, for Hong, this energy was too weak; it was completely absorbed within ten seconds.
"This..." Hong opened his eyes, a flicker of astonishment in them. With his ability to monitor his own body, his calculations were far more precise than any punch-force tester. He clearly felt his strength had increased by one hundred kilograms!
One hundred kilograms was negligible for someone whose strength was measured in tens of thousands of tons, but—it was a real, tangible increase! Treasures that could aid cultivation were rare, and for a powerhouse at Hong's level, every single bit of strength was hard-won.
Hong's gaze fell back to the jar. With a single glance, he calculated the number of pills: 99.
One pill increased strength by one hundred kilograms, so ninety-nine pills would mean 9,900 kilograms. Still negligible for him, but for anyone below the Planetary stage, this was an incredible amount of power.
"These pills... does their effect diminish with repeated use?" Hong asked, his eyes burning. He didn't ask how many Luo Feng had, as the fact that he dared to trade meant he must have more.
He was concerned about the effects. Many treasures lost potency with repeated use—take Dragon Blood, for example: the first dose was the most effective, the second half as effective, and by the third, it was useless. If these pills had similar limits, they would be of no use to him.
Seeing the change in Hong's demeanor, Luo Feng knew he was interested. "No. I have consumed several hundred pills so far, and the effect has not diminished in the slightest."
Hong looked at Luo Feng deeply and said, "These blood pills... I want as many as you have. As for the price, I will not treat you unfairly."
"I don't need money," Luo Feng replied. Wealth on Earth was meaningless to him now.
"Name your price." Hong had guessed that Luo Feng wouldn't go through all this trouble just for currency. He was curious about what the young man wanted.
"I want all the secret cultivation techniques for Spirit Readers, and... I hope to exchange for some treasures from you," Luo Feng said, emphasizing, "Treasures from ancient civilization ruins."
Hong smiled at the young man. "That is not a problem. As long as you have enough of these blood pills, I could even give you the entire Dojo of Limits."
Hong hadn't founded the Dojo of Limits out of a desire for hegemony, but simply to cultivate more powerhouses for Earth to share the burden he and Thunder God carried. If he truly wanted to rule, he wouldn't have spent his time ignoring daily affairs, leaving power to his five inspectors. For someone who knew about the civilization in the universe, increasing his own strength was always the priority.
Luo Feng felt awkward. "Master Hong, please don't joke."
However, the stiff atmosphere had become much more relaxed.
"Let me show you my collection; see what you would like to exchange for." Hong waved his hand, and three-dimensional projections of various treasures appeared before Luo Feng.
Luo Feng looked through the categories: "Secret Techniques," "Intelligent Fighter Jets," "Battle Suits," "Weapons," "Elixirs," and more.
Under each category were numerous projections. The variety of treasures dazzled Luo Feng.
"There are 62 types of treasures here for you to choose from, each marked with its price. See for yourself," Hong said, adding, "Let's set the value of one blood pill at 0.01 Star Units."
0.01 Star Units per pill? Was that much or little?
As Luo Feng pondered, he scanned the items. His eyes landed first on the intelligent fighter jets.
King-level Intelligent Fighter Jet: 2 Star Units.
Qiankun-level Intelligent Fighter Jet: 15 Star Units.
Honghuang-level Intelligent Fighter Jet: 60 Star Units.
"60 Star Units for a Honghuang-class jet?" Luo Feng’s eyes lit up. If one blood pill was 0.01 Star Units, he would need 6,000 pills for one jet. 6,000 pills could increase his strength by 600,000 kilograms—more than the base strength of an advanced War God.
He continued to scan the items.
Battle Suits:
Black God Set — 5 Star Units.
Effect: Reduces the impact force on the body to one-tenth of the original and can deform and extend to some degree.
Great stuff! Luo Feng’s eyes brightened. This was far superior to any SS-level combat suit. With the Black God Set, combined with the power amplification of his Ming Sha Blade, his defensive capabilities would reach a monstrous level! His survival ability would be vastly improved!
He had to have it! Luo Feng noted it down and continued.
"Foundation of Spirit Readers" — 3 Star Units.
Take it!
"Duntian Shuttle" — 60 Star Units.
Description: Spirit Reader weapon.
Take it!
"Dragon Blood" — 1 Star Unit.
Description: Significantly increases physical strength. Best effect on the first use. (Side effect: intense pain.)
One bottle of that as well.
...
Luo Feng went through the list, seeking advice from "Bai" in his mind while noting down his choices.
After reviewing the last item, Luo Feng spoke: "Master Hong, I want the Black God Set, the Duntian Shuttle, the Dragon Blood, the Foundation of Spirit Readers..."
Hearing Luo Feng list them off like he was ordering from a menu, Hong was startled. Did this kid really have that many blood pills?
*I should have set the price for the Duntian Shuttle higher,* Hong thought with a hint of regret. He had thought 60 Star Units was expensive—that was 6,000 pills. He hadn't expected the boy to be so decisive, as if he were just buying groceries.
Regardless, Hong had his pride. He silently calculated the total. "It comes to 84 Star Units. That is 8,400 blood pills."
"Master Hong, do you have any wreckage from alien warships? I would like to trade for some of that as well," Luo Feng said, thinking of the Honghuang-class fighter. Rather than trading for one, it would be cheaper to acquire the materials and have "Bai" manufacture an enhanced version himself.
