Chapter 102: In the Bedroom
Blue Yanzhi noticed that Mu Sihan’s expression was off. He leaned over the desk and asked with shameless curiosity, “Fourth Brother, what did Old Madam say?”
Mu Sihan tossed his phone aside and tapped the desk with his long, elegant fingers. “Old Madam has learned about her condition. Before she leaves, she wants to see me settled down.”
He leaned back in his chair, his tall, straight frame sinking against the backrest. His dark eyes half-lidded, a trace of something cold and dangerous flashing through them. “She heard some rumor from nowhere that I like men, and that you and I are an item.”
Blue Yanzhi burst out laughing. “It’s not just Old Madam who’s heard that. Even I hear it from time to time—people saying you don’t go near women because you’re involved with me. They even say my habit of changing women as easily as clothes is just a cover for my own orientation.”
“Damn it, are those people blind? If anyone’s not normal, it might be you. I’ve been through women nonstop!”
Mu Sihan grabbed the ashtray and hurled it at him. Blue Yanzhi was long used to his bad temper and dodged nimbly; the ashtray smashed to the floor.
“Fourth Brother, Old Madam didn’t send Ye Qianqian to your manor because of that rumor, did she?”
Mu Sihan said nothing, his face dark.
Blue Yanzhi pulled up a chair and sat across from him, wiping the usual roguish smile from his lips. In a serious tone, he said, “Before we find out whether your sister’s disappearance has anything to do with the Ye family, we can’t afford to offend them for now.”
At the mention of his missing sister, Mu Sihan’s chiseled features tightened. The deep, defined lines of his face seemed covered in frost, and his whole presence turned heavy, cold, and fierce. Murderous intent surfaced in his black eyes.
“It’s been years. Is she dead or alive?”
“She’s definitely still alive.” As if something had occurred to him, Blue Yanzhi changed the subject. “What about you and that girl Nan?”
Mu Sihan had no intention of hiding anything from Blue Yanzhi, so he told him the truth about his current situation with Nan Zhi.
“What? She’s your exclusive maid now? Fourth Brother, that’s quite a move. You’ve even gotten her into the manor. And now Ye Qianqian’s there too—do you think those two will—”
“I have no interest in Ye Qianqian.”
“Fourth Brother, you can’t just send Ye Qianqian away immediately. We still need her if we’re going to investigate the Ye family thoroughly. The manor’s huge. Let her stay for now, and while you’re at it, stir things up a little with the girl Nan. See if she gets jealous or something?”
Mu Sihan rose from the leather chair and looked down at him coldly. “Whether she gets jealous or not is none of my concern, but I won’t do anything that would make her jealous.”
“You straight-arrow fool. Pursuing a girl takes a bit of strategy. Listen to me—women can’t be spoiled too much, and you can’t let her think you’re indispensable—”
Mu Sihan cut off Blue Yanzhi’s endless chatter impatiently. “Who said I’m pursuing her? She’s only my little maid right now.”
Blue Yanzhi laughed.
Little maid—why did it sound so suggestive coming out of Fourth Brother’s mouth?
…
Mu Sihan returned to the manor close to nine.
Nan Zhi had to report to the television station the next day, so she didn’t wait for him to come back. Instead, she went to the room in the annex where Xiao Kai was staying.
When Mu Sihan entered the villa, he stripped off his tailored suit jacket and tossed it to Yifan, then headed upstairs.
Before entering the bedroom, he asked Yifan behind him, “Where is that woman?”
Yifan assumed he was asking about Ye Qianqian and answered respectfully, “She’s in your room.”
Mu Sihan lifted a brow, a faint smile curling across his striking, deep-set features. In the hallway light, it only made him look more seductive. He waved Yifan away. “Go downstairs first.”
Yifan caught the flash of a smile on Mu Sihan’s face and thought he must have seen wrong. It wasn’t until he heard the bedroom door close that he came back to himself.
Miss Ye was in the bedroom, and the young master not only didn’t lose his temper, he actually seemed pleased?
