Chapter 28: The Clever Little Rascal
Mu Sihan had no interest in a woman’s hands, yet for the past two years, he had often heard Ji Chuan mention this goddess whose hands were not only beautiful but also skilled in the culinary arts. Half a year ago, when his grandmother lost her appetite and couldn’t eat anything prepared by the chefs he’d hired, Ji Chuan reached out privately to this blogger on his behalf.
The blogger replied with several dietary recipes. After the chef prepared the dishes according to her instructions, his grandmother’s appetite improved considerably. From that moment on, whenever this blogger posted a new video, Mu Sihan would have the chef recreate the dish and send it to his grandmother.
Now, as Mu Sihan read the blogger’s latest update, his deep, ink-black eyes narrowed slightly. The host of Sweet Delights Kitchen had returned to the country!

The next morning.
As dawn broke, Nan Zhi awoke. She dabbed some powder over the faint bruises on her slender neck, worried that the ever-perceptive little Kai might notice. To be extra careful, she tied a silk scarf around her neck.
When she emerged from the bathroom, the little rascal was already up, rubbing his eyes adorably in a sleepy daze. “Beautiful Zhi Zhi, did you come home late last night? Other than your two godmothers, you weren’t out on a date with some wild man, right?”
Nan Zhi ruffled the boy’s hair. “What are you thinking? Mummy has only you, my little man.”
Little Kai looked up at Nan Zhi, noticing the silk scarf she wore today. He asked in confusion, “Beautiful Zhi Zhi, you never liked wearing scarves before!”
Nan Zhi smiled sweetly. “Don’t you think this scarf looks beautiful with my outfit today?”
The little guy snorted, “Kai’s beautiful Zhi Zhi is a natural beauty. It’s exactly because you’re so beautiful that I always feel a sense of crisis.”
Aunt Zhou, the caregiver, returned with hot water and couldn’t help but laugh at the boy’s words. “Young Master Kai, my granddaughter is quite pretty too. Would you like me to introduce her as your girlfriend?”
The boy blinked his clear, dark eyes and replied in his childish voice, “Granny Zhou, Kai only has eyes for Beautiful Zhi Zhi!”
Standing beside the hospital bed, Nan Zhi smiled indulgently.
“Aunt Zhou, please watch Kai for me. I’ll borrow the hospital kitchen to make breakfast for everyone.”
Whenever Nan Zhi had time, she insisted on cooking for the three of them herself.
Hearing that Nan Zhi would be making breakfast, Aunt Zhou couldn’t help swallowing. “Miss Nan, you’re not only beautiful but an amazing cook.”
Kai lifted his chin with pride. “Of course! Our beautiful Zhi Zhi is wonderful in every way.”
Just as Nan Zhi was about to respond to her son’s unabashed praise, she heard him suddenly ask, “But Beautiful Zhi Zhi, what happened to the corner of your mouth? Did something bite you?”
The little guy’s observation was too sharp.
Nan Zhi raised her delicate fingers to touch her lip, recalling how that deranged man had pressed her against the floor-to-ceiling window and kissed her fiercely the previous night. She shivered involuntarily.
Rubbing her arms, she found an excuse and slipped away to the kitchen.
After breakfast, Nan Zhi planned to visit Yanran’s house to record a new episode of her food vlog.
But she didn’t expect to run into Nan Yao in the hospital lobby.
Nan Yao wore sunglasses, trailed by two bodyguards and a servant—every bit the pampered heiress.
Nan Zhi quietly observed Nan Yao, noticing that her clothes and makeup faintly imitated how Nan Zhi had dressed four years ago. She couldn’t help but find it amusing.
Nan Yao’s features were delicate and gentle, but when she tried to dress with a queenly flair, it looked forced and out of place.
Nan Zhi’s own looks could shift from innocent to alluring. With makeup, her radiance and charisma were undeniable; she didn’t need to try—her very presence could overshadow Nan Yao.
Over the past four years, both Nan Zhi and Nan Yao had changed greatly.
The once delicate and timid Nan Yao had become arrogant and overbearing.
The once willful and flamboyant Nan Zhi had grown calm and serene.
