Chapter 31: Reluctant Farewell

"Young Master Mu, you must take your medicine on time. Last time during your check-up things were improving, so how did it suddenly become uncontrollable again? Have you not been taking your medicine properly lately..."

Mu Sihan watched the elderly doctor who had been nagging from the office all the way to the garden. He frowned impatiently, hands shoved in his pockets, his expression icy as he replied, "Are you done yet?"

"Young Master Mu, if you won’t listen, I’ll have to call the old lady," the doctor sighed.

Mu Sihan’s handsome features tightened, his deep black eyes cold and menacing as he stared at the doctor. His thin lips spat out a chilling warning, "You dare?"

The doctor felt the hairs on his body stand on end under Mu Sihan’s gaze. He looked away, coughed lightly, and said, "The old lady specifically instructed me: if you don’t behave, I’m to call her."

Mu Sihan let out a cold snort, his words sharp, his temper on the verge of erupting, "Old man, go ahead and try."

Before the doctor could respond, a childish voice rang out, "So the cool uncle is afraid of taking medicine? That’s so lame! He’s not as brave as Brother Kai!"

Mu Sihan turned to see, not far away, a little one in hospital clothes and a cap, with a pretty face. He raised his brows, his lips cold, "Kid, do you know who you’re talking to?"

Little Kai stuffed his hands into the pockets of his hospital clothes, facing Mu Sihan’s powerful aura with not a hint of fear. He pouted his soft, pink lips, and said seriously, "An uncle who’s too scared to take his medicine—I’m not afraid of you at all."

Mu Sihan squinted his abyss-like eyes, lips curling in a half-smile, "Who says I’m afraid to take medicine?"

The doctor, hearing Mu Sihan, quickly handed the medicine to him. "Young Master Mu, you must take your medicine on time."

Mu Sihan shot a cold glance at the doctor. The doctor laughed awkwardly, gave Little Kai a thumbs up, then hurried away.

Seeing Mu Sihan’s face full of distaste as he looked at the medicine, Little Kai perched himself on the edge of the flower bed, swinging his little legs twice. "Cool uncle, it’s really not embarrassing to be afraid of medicine. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a goddess who’s beautiful and makes desserts for them. Every time I take my medicine, my goddess makes delicious treats to cheer me up!"

Golden sunlight fell upon the little one's glowing white face. Looking at his features, Mu Sihan felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

But he had never liked children and had no intention of talking further. He was about to turn and leave when the little one spoke again, "Although you’re not as handsome as I am, you’re taller. For now, you should be able to protect my goddess."

Little Kai leapt off the flower bed with nimble flair, grabbed the children’s phone hanging around his neck, and tapped quickly with his small fingers.

"Here, let me show you my goddess."

Mu Sihan found it amusing.

Where did this brat come from?

His goddess must be about the same age as him, a three-year-old girl. What was there worth seeing?

Mu Sihan looked down at Little Kai, one hand in his pocket, his demeanor arrogant and invincible, "Kid, keep your goddess to yourself."

Little Kai bared his teeth. This cool uncle was hard to deal with!
