Volume One, Chapter 98: Brother Ji Never Loved You at All
"Big brother—" Gu Yajing's voice was as soft as a mosquito's whisper as she tried to push him away, but Pei Yutao not only refused to let go, he held her even tighter.
"Yaya, you've been married to him for so long, always alone in an empty room, while he thinks about Lin Ranran day and night, and now he's even cheating with other women. Are you really going to stay so devoted to him?" Pei Yutao's voice carried a hint of persuasion, whispering softly in her ear.
The warmth of his breath tickled her ear; Gu Yajing's cheeks instantly flushed, her heart beating faster.
"Big brother, let me go first." There was a trace of panic in her voice.
"No," Pei Yutao replied, his tone tinged with obsession...
Shen Mei's hand was held fast by Yanxiang, unable to move. When she stopped scratching, the itch on her body seemed to ease, but sharp pains began twisting in her abdomen.
Caught off guard, Shui Yiren was suddenly lifted into the air and let out a soft cry, immediately wrapping her arms around Daniu’s neck. Her obedient gesture made Daniu grin from ear to ear. Hugging her, he deliberately shifted her weight before striding over the fire basin and saddle.
Summer mornings always arrived early; though it was barely halfway through the hours before dawn, the sky was already bright. Slowly, Yun Haotian’s residence seemed to awaken from slumber. Servants swept, others carried things outside, wagons and horses bustled in lively commotion.
For reasons unknown, his perception of Ye Mo from his memories was becoming more and more blurred, while the person before him grew clearer. He could distinctly tell the difference between them, and perhaps because of that, his feelings were so different, he thought.
Their overconfidence had dulled their caution; the first wave of attack lasted only a heartbeat or two, but already Qingfeng Village was strewn with countless dead and wounded.
Yet this exquisite smile made those who knew her true nature—Chimo, and the Night Wolf within her—shudder unconsciously, while Bai Lingjue mirrored her expression, a smile tugging at his lips.
In that moment, Shui Yiren’s eyes sparkled, but the siblings beside her clung tightly to her arms in fright.
The other party didn't glance at her, leaving her feeling hurt, as though her intelligence had been dismissed with disdain.
Chu Tiankuo did indeed bring in a bowl of medicine. Earlier, Lu Cai’er had told Shui Mai that Chu Tiankuo was preparing medicine for her, and unexpectedly, Lu Cai’er’s casual remark turned out to be true.
During class, Pei Huan was constantly on guard, expecting the teacher to call her out for punishment, but the entire day passed without incident.
Shanks stayed at Windmill Village for several days to recover, then prepared to continue his adventures. He was a pirate, after all—he could never stay in one place for long. Though the East Sea was often derided as the weakest, many who left its shores went on to become formidable figures admired by all.
"What’s going on?" In an instant, chaos erupted outside, followed by Zhu Lie’s scolding voice. Soon Zhu Lie entered from the large cave, a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth.
"Kurosaki, congratulations on earning the approval of the Fourth Division! Welcome to the Thirteen Court Guards, Fourth Division!" Unohana Retsu applauded and smiled at me, her team members behind her watching warmly, clapping along with their captain.
Han Luoye finished his sword training, respectfully sheathing his blade. Within him, a wave of energy tinged with the sword’s intent quietly flowed, and Han Luo sat down to meditate and nurture his martial arts.
After Director Liu and Chief of Staff Yang finished their business, they returned to the Equipment Department in their official car.
"What else can we do? Of course, if you don’t enter the tiger’s den, how can you catch its cubs?" Zhao Zhongyao knew they had no retreat now; all that remained was to face Li Chengkun head-on.
"Haha, Brother Zhang, tonight we won’t stop till we’re drunk!" Liu Yu strode into the main hall, his voice preceding him.
"Haruno Sakura… who knows?" Kabuto’s false smile made it impossible to tell if he spoke truth or lies.
"Please guide me." Jin Yu nodded slightly, her figure swaying, and Mu Yuan felt a chilling wind at his back, as if he might be swept away.
A fire beam shot from the giant Xuan Iron scythe, slashing deep into Wu Jin’s chest. His exaggerated muscles split open at once, blood spurting forth.
Chu Feng and Meng Xunzi followed Lu Fuxing to the counter specializing in engagement gold. Immediately, they were stunned by the dazzling display of jewels.
"Hey, Han, you still haven’t explained what happened just now?" Violent Mumu looked at him curiously, voicing the question everyone wanted answered.
The Chitauri warship was an interstellar craft, usually used for space travel, but this guy used it as a means of transportation.
"If this guy just dies, then there's no need for a meeting," Qiao Mu thought to himself.
"How did they bully you?" Hearing that her beloved grandson was bullied, Zhan Jing was furious, and Zhao Gang and the others gathered around.
"An old servant like me is no longer capable of bedroom matters, so I must rely on medicine to save the princess. I beg the consort's forgiveness and permission," the imperial physician hurriedly knelt, tears streaming down his face.
But before bedtime, she had to watch over them as they bathed, then make sure they drank their milk, and finally tell them stories, keeping her busy for quite a while.
In this era of explosive car sales, high configurations and low prices have captured the hearts of many domestic drivers who can't afford luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, and so on.
She needed to earn money, but she could do it without that thing. If she relied on it, even if she made thousands upon thousands, others would claim, "This was inherited property," and shamelessly demand their share. All her hard work would just provide for someone else. Was she so foolish? She had no such spirit of sacrifice.
"I can wipe myself!" Cheng Mingzhen’s heart skipped a beat as he hurriedly explained in a low voice. He had spent countless days with Xinghua, never noticing how soft his cousin’s hand was until today, when he accidentally held it. It felt smoother than silk, even more tender and lovely.
Meng Tianchu nodded, and Xu Lin called a passing villager to fetch a doctor. Then, he led Meng Tianchu into a modest courtyard—without doubt, this must be the headman’s home.
Though the state councillor spoke with balanced wisdom, it was still too conservative. Seeing that the government’s stance was mostly opposed, Chief Liu sighed; clearly, there was no hope of gaining support today.
