Chapter 134: Rest Assured, I Won't Betray You
"Don't hang up, there is definitely something to discuss." Dyson blurted this out immediately; he had no intention of letting Fu Siye end the call just yet.
Although Fu Siye had a short temper, he was not someone who could be irritated so easily by just anyone. This made Dyson incredibly curious and desperate for some gossip.
"Speak," Fu Siye said, his patience clearly wearing thin.
"How is Mu Yinyin doing?" Dyson asked with a mischievous grin.
Fu Siye’s expression darkened even further. How was Mu Yinyin? She was doing perfectly fine!
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Dyson asked, sounding suspicious. "Don't tell me you actually chose to have her treated with medication yesterday??"
Veins began to bulge on Fu Siye’s forehead.
Hearing no response, Dyson took a sharp breath. "Damn it! Brother, do you have some kind of problem in that department? Should I take a look at you? You haven't touched her once in the three years you've been married, have you? You don't have anyone else on the side either. Brother, this is not normal. Is it a severe case of mysophobia, or is it..."
*Beep, beep, beep...*
Before Dyson could finish, the call was abruptly disconnected.
"Damn it!" Dyson cursed, then couldn't help but burst into laughter. He knew it—Fu Siye’s foul mood definitely had something to do with Mu Yinyin. He just didn't know the specifics.
Since he couldn't get anything out of Fu Siye, he had other ways. He tapped his phone screen, and moments later, he dialed another number. The person on the other end picked up quickly.
"Young Master Dyson?" Mu Teng sounded puzzled. Why would Dyson be calling him at this hour? Mu Teng knew that he and Fu Siye were currently abroad, and with the time difference, it was well into the night.
"What, surprised that I'm calling you?"
Mu Teng laughed awkwardly. "A little. Is there something you need?"
"Well, I noticed your CEO is in a terrible mood. Did something happen today?"
Mu Teng hesitated. His CEO was in a bad mood? He certainly knew the reason. At this moment, he remained silent.
Dyson caught on instantly. "I knew it! You know something. Tell me, what happened today?"
"This..." Mu Teng didn't know how to phrase it, and a wave of awkwardness washed over him. He knew the truth, but it wasn't easy to share with Dyson. If he said too much, wouldn't his boss be furious?
"Just say it! What’s so hard about telling me? Besides, I’m his brother. If my brother is in a bad mood, shouldn’t I be helping him resolve it? Don't you think?"
Mu Teng: "..."
"Actually, even if you don't tell me, I can guess. His behavior has already told me everything."
"Oh?" Mu Teng sounded surprised.
"It's Mu Yinyin, isn't it?"
"You figured that out?" Mu Teng immediately regretted the slip; it was as good as confirming Dyson’s guess. Though, he realized it was only natural for Dyson to have figured it out.
"It really is Mu Yinyin. Come on, tell me, what happened?" Dyson’s interest was piqued.
Mu Teng rubbed his nose and eventually spoke slowly, "It’s nothing major. Today, when President Fu went for a business meeting, he ran into President Lu and Mu Yinyin at the restaurant."
Dyson became instantly intrigued. He rested his chin on his hand and said thoughtfully, "So Lu Sinian and Mu Yinyin were together?"
"Yes," Mu Teng said, intending to say no more.
Dyson chuckled. "So, your CEO has been in a bad mood ever since?"
Mu Teng rubbed his nose again. "...Yes."
"Ha!" Dyson laughed uncharitably.
Mu Teng: "..." He wanted to point out that Dyson wasn't concerned about Fu Siye at all; he was just looking for gossip. These brothers loved to take digs at each other—comforting? Impossible.
"Alright, I’ve got it. Thanks, brother. Don't worry, I won't betray you," Dyson said, still laughing.
Mu Teng’s eyelid twitched. He had a sinking feeling that Dyson was lying to him.
Before he could say anything, Dyson chimed in cheerfully, "Gotta go, gotta go! I need to go comfort my brother."
"...Go ahead." Mu Teng felt tomorrow was going to be a difficult day. Should he consider packing his bags and leaving now?
As for Dyson, the moment he hung up on Mu Teng, he dialed Fu Siye again.
"Are you done yet?" Fu Siye’s voice was icy. If Dyson weren't his brother, he would never have answered this call.
Dyson chuckled. "I’m just trying to look out for you. Look at yourself—you don't have a shred of your usual power and authority. Did you take a hit in the romance department? Do you need a master of emotions like me to analyze it for you?"
"Enough with the nonsense," Fu Siye growled, his face dark.
"I’m telling the truth! When conflicts arise, you have to find the root cause. Let me analyze it so you at least know what the problem is. For example, when you saw the two of them at the restaurant today, you were furious, weren't you?"
Fu Siye: "?"
Dyson could almost hear Fu Siye grinding his teeth. He cleared his throat. "I’m a jack-of-all-trades. You can't hide things from me. But that’s not the point. I’m trying to help you analyze why, after seeing them, you felt a tightness in your chest. You felt that Mu Yinyin was being heartless—how could she be laughing and chatting with another man just after divorcing you?"
Fu Siye’s expression seemed to sink further, but this time, he remained silent.
Dyson’s eyes glimmered with growing amusement. He knew he had hit the nail on the head. Fu Siye’s silence meant he was waiting for him to continue.
Dyson grew even more excited. "Do you think she’s pushing her luck? You saved her life, and not only is she ungrateful, but she’s also running around with other men? Do you feel like she’s completely disregarding you—her ex-husband and savior? Do you feel like you rescued an ungrateful wretch who can't be tamed?"
When he finished, Dyson waited, but there was still no response from Fu Siye. Yet, Fu Siye didn't hang up either.
Dyson chuckled. "Looks like I hit the bullseye."
He expected Fu Siye to offer some sarcastic retort, but instead, he heard only three words:
"And then?"
Dyson froze.
"What?"
What did Fu Siye just say? He must have misheard, right?
"Did you just ask me... 'and then'?"
