Chapter 135: An Irrelevant Person?

The moment he finished speaking, Dyson felt a wave of icy chill coming through the receiver.
Fu Siye was rendered speechless. The corner of his mouth twitched. “Fine, fine, I know. I didn’t mishear you.”
Sensing that Fu Siye was on the verge of losing patience, Dyson chuckled and stopped beating around the bush. “What you’re experiencing means you’ve already started paying attention to her.”
“Nonsense.” Fu Siye’s expression seemed to darken further, clearly unconvinced by Dyson’s theory.
Dyson could also clearly hear the irritation in his voice, something closer to the fury of a man whose thoughts had just been exposed—though Fu Siye himself had yet to realize it.
Dyson gave a derisive laugh. “All right, if you don’t understand yourself, then stop craning your neck and arguing with me. I’m a master of romance. There’s a lot I understand that a brat like you knows nothing about.”
“Dyson.” Fu Siye’s voice sounded as though he were grinding his back teeth. Time and again, Dyson had pushed him to the brink of rage.
But Dyson was not afraid. He burst out laughing. “Oh, look at that! This is exactly what someone looks like when I’ve hit the nail on the head. You’re lashing out because you’re embarrassed.”
He deliberately emphasized the last few words. Seeing that Fu Siye was about to curse him out or hang up, Dyson hurriedly cleared his throat and continued, “Hey, hey, I’m not mocking you or joking around. I’m seriously analyzing the situation for you, understand? Listen to me.”
He paused deliberately. When Fu Siye seemed to be waiting for him to continue, Dyson held back a laugh and went on. “You’ve started wanting to pay attention to everything she says and does. You want to delve into her heart and find out whether she still likes you. Or perhaps you’ve already begun to suspect that her feelings for you in the past were all an act. After all, you’ve always had a poor impression of her. You think everything she does is calculated and driven by some ulterior motive.”
Fu Siye’s brows drew tighter and tighter, and his expression grew increasingly grim.
Dyson chuckled inwardly. He loved seeing his friend suffer like this. After a brief pause, he continued, “But that may simply be your prejudice. Look at Mu Yinyin’s situation now. Her status may be far beneath yours, but she’s still a woman—and not every woman has grand ambitions. She’s capable in her own right, yet in these past three years with you, she hasn’t gained even the slightest benefit. On top of that, her husband has remained inseparable from another woman and holds that woman in his heart. Anyone in her position would feel that there was no hope and simply give up.”
Fu Siye let out a cold laugh. “If she had no ulterior motive, how could she have endured it for so long? From beginning to end, she has never been a kind person.”
“Fine, fine, let’s say she did have an ulterior motive. I’m not trying to clear Mu Yinyin’s name today. I’m trying to talk about you.”
Fu Siye fell silent.
For a moment, he no longer knew what to say.

Dyson had only just become interested in the conversation, and he had no intention of letting a bucket of cold water put an end to it. With a laugh, he continued, “No matter what kind of woman Mu Yinyin is, that doesn’t change the fact that you’ve developed feelings for her. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been in such a foul mood for so long just because she had a meal with another man.”
“What do you know? I’m angry because she has no sense of propriety. When she was with me—”
Before he could finish, Dyson suddenly laughed. “Hey, brother, when did you become so hypocritical? Back when you were married to her, didn’t you often stay out all night to accompany Nan Shiqing?”
“Nan Shiqing is different from everyone else. She saved my life. Taking care of her is the least I can do. I have never had the slightest improper relationship with her. Besides, Shiqing is sensible. She has never tried to interfere with my marriage to Mu Yinyin. Mu Yinyin is the problem.”
“Tsk…”
Dyson could not help laughing derisively. “As your friend, I’ve thought it over and decided I have to warn you. She may have saved your life, but there are plenty of ways to repay a debt of gratitude. Whatever you do, don’t bring a scheming woman home as your wife. It won’t do you any good.”
Dyson was a seasoned player in the world of pleasure and understood women better than most. He knew all about the little games they played. If a woman was beautiful and had a good figure, he did not mind such tricks. After all, it was only a game—sleep with her a few times, then move on.
But if her looks and figure failed to satisfy him, those little schemes would only disgust him.
That was why, when a woman wanted to employ such tactics, much depended on whether the man was willing to let her. If he was not genuinely indulging her, she might very well end up destroying herself.
“She isn’t that kind of person.” After a pause, Fu Siye still replied淡淡ly, “She isn’t.”
“She isn’t? Heh.” Dyson chuckled again. “If you don’t believe me, take a closer look for yourself. I haven’t met Nan Shiqing many times, but after seeing her once or twice, I can already make a judgment. Don’t doubt your buddy’s ability to read people.”
Fu Siye frowned. “Is there anything else?”
“I haven’t finished. We can set Nan Shiqing aside for now and keep discussing Mu Yinyin.”
“There’s nothing to discuss.” Fu Siye had clearly lost patience and did not want to continue with the subject.
“Tsk…” Dyson laughed maliciously. “Why do you look so unwilling to hear what I have to say? Are you afraid?”
“Afraid?” Fu Siye gave a cold snort. “I simply don’t want to talk about irrelevant people.”

“Oh, please… Irrelevant? She’s already made you so restless, and you still call her irrelevant? Who are you kidding?” Dyson’s sarcasm came effortlessly.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
“Damn it!” Dyson had not expected Fu Siye to hang up even though he had clearly wanted to hear what he had to say. It made no sense at all!
No!
He absolutely refused to let his words go unfinished. Without hesitation, he called back.
This time, however, Fu Siye did not indulge him. He hung up immediately.
“Damn it!”
Was he supposed to just swallow that humiliation?
As for Fu Siye, when he did not receive another call from Dyson for nearly two minutes, he thought he could finally enjoy some peace and quiet. Then his phone suddenly began vibrating again.
A message had arrived on WeChat.
Fu Siye’s expression darkened, but he still chose to open it.
He did not need to guess. It was obviously another relentless message from Dyson.
—Dyson: I’m telling you, what you’re doing means you’ve started paying attention to Mu Yinyin. To put it more plainly, you’re already on the path to falling for her. This is what people mean when someone once had eyes only for you and you took it for granted, but the moment she turns around and starts laughing and talking with someone else, you’re the one who feels miserable.
Fu Siye was so angered by the message that he laughed.
