Two hours later.

The red light above the operating room door switched to green.

Everyone’s eyes widened in unison, and Lu Jeya exclaimed with delight, “Look!!”

Several people shot to their feet in an instant.

Before long, the doors to the operating room opened.

The hospital director and deputy director, who had just gone in, were the first to emerge, their eyes brimming with awe.

“A miracle! This is truly a miracle!” The deputy director couldn’t help but voice his astonishment.

The director, equally amazed, added, “As expected of the Lord of the Underworld!”

Fu Siyen gazed in their direction, his lips pressed into a tight line, not uttering a single word.

Not long after, Mu Yinyin and Wan Yu walked out.

Mu Yinyin removed her mask, revealing a delicate face tinged with exhaustion. Facing the hopeful gazes of everyone present, she forced a slight smile. “The surgery was a success. After a few days in intensive care, he can be transferred out.”

Instantly, several people cried out in surprise.

Fu Siyen’s thin lips drew even tighter, his cold gaze fixed on Mu Yinyin’s face, yet she did not spare him a single glance.

Lu Sinian looked at Mu Yinyin in mild surprise and said gratefully, “We owe it all to you. You must be hungry after working so hard for so long—why don’t you join us for a meal? I’ve already made a reservation.”

Mu Yinyin’s eyes flickered, just as she was about to reply, Wan Yu laughed and cut in, “Mr. Lu, you’re so straightforward. And you’re right, our little Queen of the Underworld is indeed hungry. Let’s go quickly.”

Mu Yinyin fell silent.

She could clearly sense that Sister Wan was trying to set her up with Lu Sinian.

Lu Sinian smiled. “Alright, let’s head over now.”

With that, he exchanged a glance with Meng He before turning to Fu Siyen. Noticing something different in his demeanor, Lu Sinian deliberately pretended not to see it and said, “Mr. Fu, care to join us?”

Fu Siyen gave a slight nod, saying nothing, but his sidelong gaze lingered on Mu Yinyin’s face. Yet... the woman still wouldn’t look at him, as if after signing that agreement, they had truly become strangers.

Mu Yinyin’s decisiveness in letting go made Fu Siyen feel as though she had become a different person.

...

Half an hour later.

The group arrived at the restaurant, where a private room awaited them, free from any outsiders.

Mu Yinyin, Wan Yu, Fu Siyen, and Lu Sinian.

As soon as they arrived, the waiter began serving dishes.

Taking advantage of the moment, Mu Yinyin spoke up, “I’m going to the restroom for a moment.”

“Of course,” Lu Sinian replied with a gentlemanly smile.

Fu Siyen’s cold gaze fell on her face, watching as she turned and walked out.

Wan Yu, however, looked at Fu Siyen with a half-smile, her tone meaningful. “Mr. Fu, you’ve been staring at our Queen of the Underworld all evening. Have you taken a fancy to her?”

Fu Siyen shot her a chilly glance. Given their close relationship, Wan Yu clearly knew about his history with Mu Yinyin.

He sneered and replied in a low voice, “And what do you think, Sister Wan?”

Wan Yu smiled. “I don’t think that’s very likely.”

Fu Siyen pursed his lips and withdrew his gaze, saying nothing more.

...

In the restroom.

Mu Yinyin stood at the sink, letting the water stream over her hands.

Staring at her somewhat haggard reflection in the mirror, she sighed inwardly. She would never again destroy herself for that man, nor would she allow herself to stay up all night for anyone. Her complexion really did look terrible.

From this moment on, it would be a new life—no one would ever stop her again.

She turned off the faucet, dried her hands, picked up her bag, and headed out.

But—

Before she could react, someone seized her wrist and dragged her into an empty private room.

Mu Yinyin’s face darkened, but before she could protest, she saw that it was Fu Siyen before her.

“Let go.” Mu Yinyin didn’t try to break free.

Fu Siyen acted as if he hadn’t heard her, his eyes blazing with anger as he stared at the icy woman before him, enunciating her name through gritted teeth, “Mu. Yin. Yin!”

Mu Yinyin regarded him with clear annoyance. “What on earth do you want?”

Fu Siyen gave a short, incredulous laugh, the veins on his forehead throbbing. He pinned her against the wall, jaw clenched. “You tell me—what do you think I want?”

Three years of marriage, and he had never known Mu Yinyin could keep such a thing from him!

A muffled groan escaped Fu Siyen, but he didn’t let go—Mu Yinyin’s heel had firmly stomped on his shoe.

She frowned impatiently. “If it hurts and you still won’t let go, are you brainless?”

“Mu Yinyin, you owe me an explanation.”

Mu Yinyin let out a sardonic laugh. “Mr. Fu, in these three years, have you ever spoken to me calmly? Have you ever given me a chance to show you what I’m capable of?”

Fu Siyen’s brow furrowed again, but he couldn’t think of a single retort.

Mu Yinyin sneered, “Our fates just aren’t aligned. I never deserved you. Mr. Fu, you look like you regret it now.”

Fu Siyen’s face darkened; he abruptly released her and stepped back. Mu Yinyin, suddenly unsupported, staggered slightly.

Freed from his restraint, Mu Yinyin’s lashes quivered, but in the next moment, she banished the bitterness from her eyes. Mu Yinyin, what more could you possibly hope for? You’ve already made your decision—why care how he reacts?

Her gaze flickered as she regained her composure. Meeting his disdainful look, she said coolly, “So everything about me has nothing to do with you. I don’t want a penny of your family’s money. Once this matter is settled, let’s finalize our divorce as soon as possible, so we can both have peace of mind.”

Without another glance at him, she turned and strode out.

The two of them returned to the restaurant one after the other.

Lu Sinian narrowed his eyes, not betraying any sign that he’d noticed anything unusual, but Wan Yu, her sunglasses still on, cast a look of barely concealed disgust at Fu Siyen. Mu Yinyin really must have been blind to have fallen for such a scoundrel!

The meal was a strained affair.

Fu Siyen and Mu Yinyin barely spoke, leaving most of the conversation to Wan Yu and Lu Sinian.

Only when it was over did Lu Sinian turn to Mu Yinyin. “Queen of the Underworld, will my grandfather recover this time?”

Fu Siyen’s gaze flicked instantly to Mu Yinyin.

She nodded. “Yes. In three days, he can leave the hospital and recuperate at home.”

They had a private doctor at home, and the environment was much better than the hospital’s.

Both Fu Siyen and Lu Sinian were surprised.

“Three days?” Lu Sinian sounded unsure, seeking confirmation.

Mu Yinyin nodded again, while Wan Yu laughed, “Don’t worry. If our little Queen of the Underworld says three days, then it’s three days! Just be patient.”

An unexpected look flashed in Lu Sinian’s eyes, but he quickly smiled and nodded. “I underestimated you, Queen. We’re very lucky to have you.”

Mu Yinyin’s lips curved slightly. “You paid me to heal him; it’s only right.”

A look of resentment flashed across Fu Siyen’s eyes. Was this woman really so obsessed with money?

Lu Sinian immediately replied, “No, no, without you, my grandfather might not have survived. Business is business, but your kindness is something I’ll never forget. If you ever need anything from me, just ask.”

Wan Yu looked even more satisfied. Mu Yinyin noticed that the way she looked at Lu Sinian was almost as if... she were looking at a future brother-in-law.
