Nan Shiqing's expression changed dramatically! If he went over now, there was a very good chance he would see Mu Yinyin coming out! No! She had finally managed to find Fu Seye, how could she let them meet?

Seeing that he was about to leave, Nan Shiqing immediately called out, "Wait a moment!" Her face shifted again; just now, her anxiety and nerves had made her voice sound almost shrill. She quickly glanced at Fu Seye, cautious and uneasy—would he find her behavior annoying?

Perhaps even Fu Seye hadn't expected Nan Shiqing to speak to him in such a tone. He turned to look at her, his gaze cool. "What is it?"

Nan Shiqing's eyes flickered as her mind raced desperately for a solution. What could she say—what excuse could she give to stop him from going out?

Fu Seye's brow furrowed, as though his patience was wearing thin.

Nan Shiqing took a deep breath and finally managed to blurt out a clumsy excuse, "I—I just suddenly thought, should we order a couple more dishes? It seems like everything you ordered was what I like to eat..."

Fu Seye shot her a glance, his eyes tranquil, but it made Nan Shiqing sit as if on pins and needles. "No need." Without another word or even a second glance at her, Fu Seye strode out.

Nan Shiqing was left speechless with shock!

She had no way to stop him now—if she tried any further, she would only arouse his suspicion. But what would happen if he ran into Mu Yinyin outside?

The restroom wasn't far from their private room. She could only hope that after Mu Yinyin came out, she would head in the opposite direction—otherwise, they might meet face to face.

No, she had to check! She couldn't give them a chance to be alone together! But when she went out, she couldn't find any sign of Fu Seye.

She hurried a few more steps forward, but still saw nothing. The distance to the restroom wasn't that far, but still required a bit of walking. She had rushed out almost immediately after him—so where was he?

How could he just disappear? Nan Shiqing looked left and right, but Fu Seye was nowhere to be seen. A growing sense of unease crept over her—had Fu Seye lied to her and gone somewhere else? Nan Shiqing's brows knit tightly together.

What she didn't know was that at that very moment, the man she was searching for had seized a woman's wrist and cornered her against the wall.

His face was dark, his gaze icy, as he looked down at the petite woman before him, as though he might devour her whole.

"Let go!" Mu Yinyin shouted furiously, and when she got no response, she snapped again, "Let go of me, you bastard!"

She had just come out of the restroom and run directly into Fu Seye. She didn't even want to acknowledge him, just tried to walk past, but after only a couple steps he had dragged her into an empty private room.

She had no idea what had gotten into Fu Seye.

His face grew even more overcast, and his cold voice was laced with menace. "Say that again, you wretched woman!"

Mu Yinyin actually laughed in anger. "What, Mr. Fu, didn't you always disdain to even touch me? Now that you're clutching my hand and won't let go, have you fallen in love with me?"

The fury in Fu Seye's eyes seemed to burn even hotter. "Mu Yinyin, have you any shame?"

"And you? Do you have any? What are you trying to do, grabbing me like this? Mr. Fu, if you kneel down and beg me right now, maybe I'll consider getting back together with you."

But as soon as she finished speaking, Fu Seye flung her hand away, his face livid. "Mu Yinyin, what do you think you mean to me?"

Mu Yinyin staggered, but quickly steadied herself. Without even glancing at Fu Seye, she turned and walked toward the door. She couldn't care less why Fu Seye had suddenly dragged her in here.

On the day of their divorce, she had already given up completely. Now, whenever she saw Fu Seye, she only wanted to stay as far away from him as possible, never to be entangled again.

"Mu Yinyin!" Fu Seye's voice was ice cold.

Mu Yinyin didn't even pause, ignoring him entirely.

Fu Seye's face was thunderous.

Seeing that Mu Yinyin was about to open the door and leave, he grabbed her wrist again!

Impatience flashed plainly in Mu Yinyin's eyes. She knew she couldn't break free, so she didn't bother struggling, only gazed at him coldly and asked, "What exactly do you want?"

Fu Seye's glare sharpened as it fell upon her. Seeing the chill in her eyes, he let out a bitter laugh.

"What do I want? You've been lying to me from the beginning to the end. Mu Yinyin, what right do you have to claim that you've been the one making sacrifices these past three years?"

Mu Yinyin frowned coldly at him. "Are you sick? We're already divorced. What use is there in bringing this up now?"

"So you really did deceive me for three years?!" Fu Seye's voice rose even louder.

Mu Yinyin's frown deepened. Was this man out of his mind? She let out a cold laugh. "Think whatever you want. Let go."

Fu Seye's pupils shrank, but all he saw in her eyes was utter indifference.

A deep irony flickered across Mu Yinyin's gaze. Once, she had been persistent, unable to bear being misunderstood. If she had actually done something, and someone falsely accused her, she would have argued until they believed her.

But now... she no longer cared.

She found it meaningless.

As long as she could answer to her own conscience and to heaven, that was enough. She needed no one else's trust. Whatever others believed, let it be.

The man was still gripping her wrist. Mu Yinyin couldn't break free, her brows furrowed in annoyance as she glared at him and said in a low voice, "Let go. Are you deaf?"

Outside the door, Fu Seye and Mu Yinyin's raised voices caught Nan Shiqing's attention as she searched for Fu Seye. She approached slowly, her face growing uglier by the second.

The voices seemed to be coming from this room?

Before she could think further, that familiar, magnetic voice of his drifted out again.

"How laughable. Mu Yinyin, you manipulated the entire Fu family, made Grandmother worry herself sick day after day. In the end, it was all your lies and exploitation. Who do you think you're worthy of?"

Mu Yinyin's gaze tightened.

So, it was because Grandmother had been in low spirits, and now that he had suddenly learned her true identity, he felt she had deceived and used them at every turn. That was why he was even angrier with her now.

Mu Yinyin's eyes softened for a moment, and she spoke in a low voice, "I'll go explain things to Grandmother myself. When I do, I hope you won't be there. We shouldn't meet again."

Fu Seye's expression grew even darker, but he pressed his lips together, saying not a word.

At the door, Nan Shiqing, who had heard every word exchanged between the two, looked as if she could hardly bear it.

So it really was them—of course it was them!

But… why were they in this private room together?
