Chapter 6 Boss Jiang, Long Time No See
“Mr. Lu has a bright future ahead! But our little Hell Lord is single right now, so seize the opportunity~”
Fu Siyue’s icy gaze swept instantly toward Wan Yu.
Lu Sinian chuckled, “That would be my honor, though I fear I might frighten the queen.”
Queen.
Though the word sounded rather plain, at that moment, it carried an unexpected weight.
“Don’t be afraid, just get to know her better. Isn’t that right, darling?”
Mu Yinyin’s lips twitched as she looked at her without speaking.
But Wan Yu understood. She was saying: Thank you!
“Hahaha, alright, it’s getting late. Our little Hell Lord didn’t get much rest last night, so we’ll head back first. If there’s any issue with Old Master Lu, call me anytime.”
Lu Sinian nodded immediately, “Alright, I’ll walk you out.”
In that moment, Fu Siyue seemed to become invisible.
Wan Yu and Mu Yinyin ignored him; Lu Sinian and Fu Siyue had been business partners for years, so Fu Siyue knew what mattered and said nothing, though Lu Sinian could sense something was off about him, and his relationship with Mu Yinyin was strange.
An hour later, Wan Yu and Mu Yinyin arrived at the hotel.
They were staying in a suite. Lu Sinian escorted them and then left without further disturbance.
Both sat together on the sofa in the living room. Mu Yinyin’s petite face was marked by undisguised exhaustion; after five hours of surgery today and little rest last night, she was truly tired.
Wan Yu poked her head, “Alright, you don’t need to keep me company. Go take a shower and sleep. Once you wake up, we’ll talk again.”
Mu Yinyin didn’t protest, agreeing softly before heading into the bedroom.
Meanwhile.
Lu Sinian and his assistant were on their way back.
His assistant was still quite young. Since Fu Siyue was generally easy-going, he wasn’t strict with him, so the assistant wasn’t overly reserved—he even dared to ask about his boss’s gossip.
When they stopped at a red light, he couldn’t help but glance at Lu Sinian, “Mr. Lu, it seemed that Sister Wan was trying to set you up with the Hell Lord. She’s such an outstanding woman and beautiful too—aren’t you moved?”
Fu Siyue’s gaze narrowed, “Are you matchmaking for me as well?”
The assistant coughed awkwardly, “No, I just think you two are a good match—talented man and beautiful woman, not to mention both so accomplished…”
Lu Sinian only tugged his lips, saying nothing. The assistant fell silent.
…
Late at night.
After a full day, Fu Siyue had no heart for work.
He was working overtime at the company, his face clouded, his gaze deep and cold.
Suddenly, his phone rang, snapping him back. Seeing the caller ID, he hesitated but answered.
“Shiqing.”
“Siyue, where are you? I’m in so much pain.”
Fu Siyue’s expression tightened, immediately asking, “What’s wrong? Have you called the doctor?”
“I have already… I just couldn’t help but call you.”
“I’m sorry, I have urgent matters to handle right now, I can’t come over.”
Nan Shiqing’s eyes changed. Usually, Fu Siyue would rush over without hesitation when she said such things, but now…?
She gripped her phone tightly, probing, “Siyue, did something happen? Is it related to your sudden departure today?”
She was worried—could he be meeting Mu Yinyin?
But the next moment, his answer put her at ease.
“Old Master Lu had surgery, I came to check on him.”
Nan Shiqing immediately responded sensibly, “I see… I just couldn’t resist calling you. Go ahead and get back to work, the doctor’s here, so I’ll let you go.”
“Alright, cooperate with the treatment.” Fu Siyue’s voice was a bit heavy; Nan Shiqing felt something was off but said, “Mm, I’ll be good, you don’t need to worry about me or I’ll feel guilty. Siyue, I’ll hang up now.”
“Okay.”
This time, Fu Siyue had little patience and ended the call first.
Nan Shiqing’s expression darkened. Something was wrong!
Usually, Fu Siyue waited for her to hang up, so what had changed?
With a gloomy face, she immediately messaged her assistant. After confirming Fu Siyue hadn’t lied, she finally relaxed a little.
…
Two days passed.
Old Master Lu’s health had noticeably improved. During various examinations, the doctors wore expressions of unprecedented astonishment.
The results were almost unbelievable—no wonder the Hell Lord was called the Hell Lord! It was as if she snatched people from the hands of the King of Hell, leaving him helpless!
When Fu Siyue heard the news, his face grew even darker. The entire company was shrouded in gloom, but no one knew why. Everyone worked overtime, barely daring to breathe.
Yet the person he was furious with had no idea what Fu Siyue was thinking, and instead went out to meet another man.
She had arranged to meet an old friend at a bar.
Three years ago, the four of them had founded a company together, which had grown to rank among the world’s top hundred.
Everyone knew that Stardust Group was established by four founders, but only they knew that the company’s boss, President Mu, was actually Mu Yinyin!
Mu Yinyin had just arrived when the private room door opened. Jiang Ling entered, as always wearing a white shirt and slacks, his suit jacket draped over his arm.
His sharp, handsome face was captivating, a small scar beside his right eye only adding to his charm, making him seem like a man with a story.
He was twenty-eight this year, calm and steady, and everyone called him Boss Jiang.
Mu Yinyin smiled, “Boss Jiang, long time no see.”
The other two partners were away on business; today’s meeting with Jiang Ling was to hand over some work.
“Long time no see.” Jiang Ling handed her a USB drive, “Here’s the latest company report.”
“Thank you.”
He sat down, looking at Mu Yinyin with a complicated expression, “This time, have you truly made up your mind?”
Mu Yinyin pulled at her lips, “I’m divorced.”
For a moment, the room fell silent. Jiang Ling raised his dark eyes and looked at her without speaking.
Mu Yinyin didn’t notice the turbulent undercurrents in his gaze, only smiled lightly, “Will you drink with me?”
Jiang Ling’s eyes flickered, “Drink?”
Mu Yinyin smiled, “Are you afraid?”
Anyone familiar with Mu Yinyin knew her tolerance was low and her drinking habits notoriously bad…
After only a couple drinks, she’d be out of control.
“Are you sure?” Jiang Ling felt uneasy.
“Don’t worry, my drinking isn’t that bad—I can handle it.” As she spoke, she poured Jiang Ling a drink.
Jiang Ling: “…”
Knowing she was in a bad mood, Jiang Ling finally relented, “Alright, I’ll keep an eye on you.”
Mu Yinyin smiled and clinked glasses with him.
But… after just one glass, Mu Yinyin’s eyes were already unfocused. Still, she managed to say, “This time, I’ve let go. I won’t be entangled by feelings anymore. Jiang Ling, I’m back.”
Jiang Ling gazed at her, his eyes subtly excited, “You’re really willing to return?”
“Yes, I am. From now on, I’ll focus on my career. And… those mother and daughter, I won’t let them off. I’ll reclaim everything that belonged to my father.”
…
Meanwhile, in the neighboring private room, two men entered.
Fu Siyue and Dyson.
Dyson looked at him with a half-smile, “Nan Shiqing is awake—what are you planning to do?”
He was a doctor with his own private hospital, also Fu Siyue’s brother. Handsome in a roguish way, he’d attracted countless women.
Fu Siyue’s expression was calm, “Divorce.”
Dyson’s lips twitched speechlessly, “Mu Yinyin was at least a good wife, the perfect Mrs. Fu—are you really going to let her go?”
Fu Siyue recalled Mu Yinyin’s decisive signature, her secrecy, and his brows furrowed irritably.
“A good wife?” Fu Siyue scoffed coldly, “She told the old man that Shiqing couldn’t bear children. She and her father used every trick to make him force me into marriage with her—how is she a good wife?”
…
By now, Mu Yinyin had downed two bottles of beer, and her drinking habits really weren’t good.
Her beautiful face was flushed, and drunk, she laughed carelessly, “I’m so outstanding, and he doesn’t want me? Well, I don’t want him either! From now on, we’re done! If I ever like him or get close to him again, I’ll be the fool!”
Mu Yinyin’s vow was resolute and unwavering.
But… she was about to be proven wrong as soon as she stepped outside.
