“There’s another benefit?” Rollin already felt the Overlord’s Blood Elixir was heaven-defying enough—it had not only transformed his body but also elevated him to a third rank Warrior. Now, hearing that there was an even greater advantage, he pricked up his ears, listening intently to Michius.

“Channel your magic power into the Overlord’s Blood battle energy, and you’ll see for yourself.” Michius did not answer directly, instead urging Rollin to try it himself.

At his words, Rollin hurried to follow Michius’s instructions, guiding a thread of fire magic from the middle dantian through a meridian to the lower dantian, then letting it blend into the violet-gold Overlord’s Blood battle energy.

And then—something miraculous happened. As the fire magic power mingled with the battle energy, the previously “supple” fire magic force instantly transformed into a “fierce” fire-attribute battle energy!

It was common knowledge: magical power could only be wielded by mages, while battle energy was the exclusive domain of warriors—the two forces were fundamentally incompatible. In other words, a warrior could not use magic. Yet at this moment, the fire magic had directly allowed the Overlord’s Blood battle energy to convert into fire-attribute battle energy.

Rollin quickly circulated this thread of fire battle energy along a prescribed meridian to his arm, and immediately, a wisp of searing, scarlet battle energy flared at his fingertip.

“It really works!” Rollin couldn’t help but exclaim. He then tried the same with lightning and dark magic power—without exception, they too were converted into lightning and dark battle energy.

Rollin drew in a sharp breath. With this transformative effect of the Overlord’s Blood battle energy, he could directly draw on magical power for combat as a warrior!

“So, you’re a triple-element practitioner as well—how excellent!” Michius, seeing Rollin display lightning, dark, and fire battle energies in turn, could not help but praise him.

During the previous encounter in the grand hall with Caiyun, Rollin had already learned that Michius cultivated not just fire and dark but also water magic. Now, hearing this, Rollin was sure: Michius too was a master of three elements. But why did he say being a triple-element practitioner was so advantageous?

“In the process of converting magic into battle energy, you must have noticed there’s a certain loss. For a single-element mage, this conversion not only fails to boost their combat power but actually depletes their magical energy quickly. However, for dual- or triple-element mages, their reserves are already two or three times larger than those of single-element mages. This conversion thus fully capitalizes on their innate advantage!” Michius explained.

Rollin suddenly understood. He hadn’t realized that cultivating three elements brought such a benefit. He also thought of the white stone, which constantly absorbed and refined fire elements—among his three types of magic, fire was the most abundant. Surely just that alone would be enough to offset the Overlord’s Blood battle energy’s consumption!

Next, Rollin turned his hand and drew out the short sword he’d been awarded for passing the second trial, because he’d heard that using different elemental battle energies in the same warrior’s weapon produced markedly different effects, and he wanted to test this.

However, before he could channel battle energy, Michius suddenly reached out to stop him. “Rollin, you can throw away that short sword and the warrior’s manual you received earlier!”

Rollin glanced at Michius in confusion, not understanding his meaning.

“Compared to the Overlord’s Blood Secret Art, that warrior’s manual is nothing but trash. You have no need to keep it. As for the short sword, it’s just a low-quality weapon I made, suitable for those who cleared the second level, but now that you’ve mastered the Overlord’s Blood Secret Art, using such a weapon would be squandering your potential!” Michius stated bluntly.

“You won’t let me use this short sword—could it be that in your treasury…” Rollin’s eyes lit up in anticipation.

A trace of admiration flickered across Michius’s indifferent face. “Clever. The second treasure in the vault is indeed a warrior’s weapon. I won it from a god in a wager years ago. Since it was wielded by a deity, I trust it will honor the Overlord’s Blood Secret Art well!”

Rollin’s mouth twitched. Just what sort of figure was Michius? After dueling the War God Aragon, he’d gambled with another deity, winning one of their weapons. Surely only someone as audacious as Michius could exist among the legendary powerhouses.

Following Michius into the dimly lit giant cabinet, Rollin found the space inside surprisingly large, with four tall stone pedestals. The first was empty—undoubtedly where the Overlord’s Blood Elixir had once rested.

They approached the second pedestal, its surface draped in a special, vivid red silk. From its outline, Rollin could tell it concealed something long. Michius gestured for him to uncover it.

With a swift motion, the red cloth slid off, revealing a golden trident gleaming brilliantly atop the stone.

Rollin quickly lifted the weapon—taller than himself—and examined it closely. It was entirely resplendent gold, with three sharp points, one long and two shorter, each glinting with chilling light beneath the faint glow. The shaft was encircled by ancient, mysterious patterns.

Holding this mighty golden trident, Rollin could not help but grow excited. What man’s heart hasn’t dreamed of wielding a divine weapon on the battlefield? For a warrior, a superb weapon is a second life. This trident—truly a weapon worthy of gods—was already hard to put down.

At that moment, Rollin glanced at the dark red ring on his finger and thought, “Michius must have anticipated this. Imagine fighting with a golden trident in one hand and a staff in the other—how awkward would that be? But with this magic ring, the problem is solved.”

As he infused the fire-attribute battle energy into the golden trident, it immediately turned crimson, exuding an aura as if it could incinerate all before it!

Channeling lightning battle energy gave the trident a wild, fierce energy, making it seem alive and crackling with power.

Infusing it with dark battle energy rendered the trident mysterious and unfathomable, as if it could silently and fatally strike down any foe, no matter how wary.

Charging it with Overlord’s Blood battle energy endowed the weapon with a sense of grandeur, heaviness, and overwhelming might!

In the cave.

Victoria had at last recovered some of her spiritual and magical energy. She hurried to treat the deep, bone-revealing wound on her abdomen with water magic.

Among the seven schools of magic, water’s healing power was second only to that of light magic, so though the injury was grave, Victoria was unconcerned, confident in her abilities.

However, after ten minutes of healing, the wound showed no sign of closing. Under the faint glow of a newly lit lamp, she saw the flesh around the wound had turned black.

“This is bad—there’s poison on the claws of that human-faced white fox!” Victoria’s face changed. After more than half a year in the Maya Mountains, she’d nearly exhausted the two bottles of antidote she’d brought. She had resolved just days ago to end her training here, but on the way back—where only low-level beasts had ever appeared—a human-faced white fox had suddenly emerged. Worse still, this sixth-rank beast’s claws were venomous.

She quickly took out the last of her antidote and dripped it onto the wound, silently praying, “Let this work. If not, I’m in real trouble.”

Back in Michius’s hall, Rollin had already stowed away the golden trident. He now followed Michius to the third pedestal, eager to see the next treasure.
