Chapter 77: Isn’t That Infuriating? (Third Update!)
Mount P City.
Yang Hao and his team had just arrived when they encountered another group. Clearly, before their appearance, someone else had already claimed the vantage point in this area.
They’d been beaten to the punch!
In their initial clash, it seemed Yang Hao’s side had emerged victorious. However, the battles that followed were far from effortless.
The enemy held the high ground, granting them a broader field of vision. Their movements were easily exposed to scrutiny, a fact that offered no comfort to Yang Hao’s group.
Their only relief was that Zhang Tian and Zhu Ziyuan had each shot down one of the opposition moments earlier, giving them a clear numerical advantage.
Seizing the opportunity while two opponents were down, Yang Hao, Yao Cheng, and Zhang Tian drove their vehicle up the slope. Zhu Ziyuan, as their sniper, naturally didn’t join the frontal charge. His role was to provide cover fire.
As Yang Hao and the others launched their assault, Zhu Ziyuan didn’t idle in the rear. He quietly advanced, searching for a better sniping position—his current spot was too low, with limited visibility, making it less than ideal for picking off enemies.
As the vehicle drew near, some spectators noticed Yang Hao and Zhang Tian slip out quietly. Using nearby trees to obscure their movements, they departed without being quickly spotted.
They tossed three smoke grenades ahead. As the smoke billowed, Yang Hao and Zhang Tian each picked a direction and sprinted forward.
When the haze cleared, those on the mountain focused all their attention on Yao Cheng, still in the vehicle, and Zhang Tian, who was laying smoke. As for Yang Hao, by the time the smoke dissipated, he had already circled around to another angle, his movements concealed by the confusion.
The three pressed forward along separate routes, stealthily advancing up the mountain.
At this moment, the enemy had revived their fallen teammates and began to resist. Yao Cheng, making the most noise with the car, naturally attracted the lion’s share of their attention. Zhang Tian, using his unique smoke tactics, edged ever closer right under their noses.
Only Yang Hao remained unnoticed for now.
Three attacked from different flanks; one waited in reserve, ready to join the fray.
Gunfire began to echo across Mount P City!
The turmoil here, far from subsiding with time, only grew more intense.
The battle reached a fever pitch.
While Zhang Tian and Yao Cheng drew the bulk of enemy fire, Yang Hao had yet to fire a single shot, instead creeping behind them—dangerously close now.
Suddenly, a faint sound—a string being drawn—alerted the mountain’s defenders.
Before they could trace the source, a small object rolled to their feet.
No need to ask; everyone knew it was trouble.
“Scatter!” someone shouted.
At the appearance of the mysterious object, panic set in. Everyone instinctively assumed it was a grenade and scrambled, terror-stricken.
Who wouldn’t panic with a grenade at their feet?
However, the next moment brought not an explosion, but blinding light.
“A flashbang!” someone realized as their vision turned white. The three caught in the blast were thrown into chaos.
What now? I can’t see!
Just then, a figure burst from cover—it was Zhang Tian!
He raised his AKM and sprayed bullets at the blinded trio, whose only hope was to fire blindly in return. Unable to see, their aim was pitiful.
Meanwhile, their last teammate, positioned differently, escaped the flashbang’s effect. Sensing the disturbance, he swung his gun toward Zhang Tian.
Bang!
But he never got to fire. The instant he rose, Zhu Ziyuan, from his vantage below, struck. One shot, one kill!
The man fell.
With their sole support gone, the three, still reeling from the flash, quickly dropped under Zhang Tian’s relentless assault.
Four casualties!
“Damn, AK beast!”
“Who said the AK wasn’t good?”
“That recoil control—insane!”
“That’s the justice of men; you uncultured types wouldn’t understand.”
“I love the AK’s powerful kick—absolutely exhilarating!”
Seeing Zhang Tian’s health bar barely above half, the audience erupted in excitement.
That sequence was simply too cool!
Relentless recoil control! Ruthless AK spray!
Especially Zhang Tian’s technique—it dazzled all who watched. His gunplay was stunning.
One man against three—KO!
The fight was over.
Suddenly, quietly—
A figure rose from behind a nearby rock.
As this silhouette appeared, memories of the flashbang flashed through everyone’s mind, making their eyelids twitch.
They seemed to realize something.
So, the flashbang that turned the tide was thrown by this guy?
During the action, the camera mostly followed Zhang Tian, Yao Cheng, and the enemy squad, leaving Yang Hao, who’d lain hidden, out of view. When the flashbang appeared, many were puzzled—who had thrown it? Searching, they found no answer, until Yang Hao emerged from his inconspicuous position.
“Old fox!”
“Damn, if I were those guys, I’d hate him.”
“So damn sneaky!”
“That flashbang caught me totally off guard.”
“When did he sneak over there? I had no clue…”
“Me neither!”
Watching Yang Hao looting on screen, the crowd was speechless.
Without that sudden flashbang, the enemy wouldn’t have been wiped out so swiftly.
Meanwhile—
At the tournament venue upstairs, the group just eliminated didn’t immediately exit the game. Though reduced to loot crates, staying in allowed them to witness unfolding events.
The four watched the figure rise, their mouths twisting in frustration.
It was clear—the flashbang was his doing.
From start to finish, he hadn’t fired a single shot. With only a well-timed flashbang, he’d sent them to hell.
The very thought was suffocating.
They’d been outplayed!
And right under their noses, no less!
When did he sneak over? Doing nothing, not firing, lying low for so long—all just to throw a flashbang.
Was there ever anyone so cunning?
Wouldn’t that infuriate you?
