Chapter 16: A Fierce Warrior Against Thirteen
At this moment, a crowd quickly gathered around the carpet. Seeing Xiang Nan drop Zheng Hao with a single punch, everyone’s spirits were lifted.
“Damn, just one disagreement and he starts swinging!”
“The boss is tough! All street vendors are hardcore!”
“Whether the medicine is real or fake, just try it and you'll know!”
“I've long been annoyed by these guys charging stall fees in public areas. Boss, we're behind you!”
A young woman couldn’t help but complain, “But you can’t just break his bones!”
Xiang Nan looked innocent. “If I don’t break his bones, how can I prove how effective my medicine is?”
“Even so, can your patch really mend his broken bones?”
“Not only can it mend bones, but he’ll be fully healed within ten minutes!”
Laughter erupted around them.
“Pfft… Boss, aren’t you a little too confident?”
“That’s going too far—never heard of any plaster that can set bones.”
“I was starting to suspect you were selling fake medicine, but after what you said, I totally believe you now.”
“Don’t brag so much you fly off the handle!”
“Heh, let’s just wait and see him get proven wrong.”
Xiang Nan remained calm. “Everyone, today I’ll show you just how miraculous my ancestral healing patch is.”
Zheng Hao was writhing in pain. “Damn it, who wants to use your patch? Call an ambulance for me!”
But the onlookers disagreed.
“Just let the boss try it!”
“Yeah, it’s already broken anyway.”
Zheng Hao was about to collapse. Xiang Nan, unconcerned with his consent, lifted his shirt, grabbed his arm, and—with a twist—reset the bone before applying the patch.
The next second, Zheng Hao’s grimace shifted.
Huh? It really seems to be working!
The injured area was enveloped in a warm sensation, as if every cell was repairing itself.
A few moments passed, and Zheng Hao’s expression turned almost blissful, as though he were enjoying a spa rather than healing from an injury.
The crowd stared, eyes wide. Was it really that miraculous?
Five minutes later, Zheng Hao exhaled a deep breath and stood up, full of energy. “Holy crap! I’m actually healed!”
The young woman nearby couldn’t believe her eyes. “You’re serious?”
Zheng Hao was elated. “My bones, my muscles—everything’s fine! Even my chronic back pain is gone!”
The onlookers were dumbstruck.
At that moment, a man in a black suit stepped out from the crowd.
As soon as Zheng Hao saw him, he snapped to attention. “Brother Liang, you’re here!”
Wu Liang’s brows drew together. “What are you doing here messing around? Did you collect the stall fees or not? Do you want to lose your monthly bonus?”
“Well… about that…” Zheng Hao stammered, wiping the sweat from his brow. Wu Liang glanced at Xiang Nan.
And with just one look, Wu Liang’s expression changed instantly.
“Na—Nan Bro?”
The fearsome man who took on thirteen people at the airport exit?
Xiang Nan recognized Wu Liang as well. If it hadn’t been for Xu Qingshan’s timely intervention during that airport showdown, Wu Liang’s head would’ve been split open.
Now, seeing Xiang Nan, Wu Liang felt his scalp tingle.
“Nan Bro, what brings you here selling on the street?” Wu Liang asked with a forced smile.
Noticing Wu Liang’s attitude, Zheng Hao’s legs went weak. He realized he’d really kicked an iron wall.
Xiang Nan didn’t answer, instead asking, “He’s one of your crew?”
The implication was clear—he was referring to Zheng Hao.
“Just a rookie, doesn’t know any better. He offended you, Nan Bro.”
“Hurry up, Xiao Zheng, apologize to Nan Bro! Use your eyes next time!”
Zheng Hao had nothing left to say and could only bow and nod repeatedly.
Xiang Nan waved a hand. “Since you’re all idle, help me sell my healing patches!”
“Nan Bro, if you’re short on cash, just say the word. How can we let you sell on the street? There’s no money in this!”
Wu Liang had heard that during the Young Master Selection, the Xu family had pinned all their hopes on Xiang Nan.
By now, people all around were scrambling to buy the patches.
“Boss, how much is one patch?”
“Five hundred per patch, fair price for all!”
“Just five hundred? That’s cheap! Give me ten—I’ll give them as gifts to my relatives!”
“Give me ten, too! Cure illness or boost health!”
“I want five!”
Wu Liang was stunned. What kind of magical patch was this? Did it have gold in it? People were fighting to buy them at five hundred apiece?
Meanwhile, Xiang Nan had already collected a thick stack of bills.
“Don’t worry, you won’t be working for nothing. Whoever sells one gets a thirty percent cut.”
“Nan Bro, I’m in! I’m in!” Zheng Hao rushed forward eagerly.
He’d experienced the effects himself—the patch was definitely a blockbuster product.
Just then—
Boom!
A loud explosion erupted from a nearby high-rise. A massive mushroom cloud shot skyward, half the sixty-story building blown apart.
Dust and flames filled the air. People inside fled for their lives.
An accident?
Xiang Nan immediately ordered Wu Liang and Zheng Hao, “Here’s our chance to build the brand! Pack up and follow me!”
Outside the building, injured people were already streaming out.
Xiang Nan quickly spread out the carpet and set up his stool.
“Baozhiling’s ancestral healing patch, trauma wine, miraculous powder—everything you need for injuries!”
“Fresh wounds or old injuries, our medicine works wonders!”
“Ten minutes to results—apply first, pay later! No cure, no charge!”
After what had just happened, Xiang Nan was even more confident in his remedies.
Many of those fleeing the building were wounded and in need of immediate treatment.
Hearing that they could try the medicine before paying, and with a guarantee of a refund if it didn’t work, even the skeptical were tempted to give it a try.
“Ancestral healing powder—come, try it! Ten minutes to results!”
Zheng Hao, now experienced, warmly greeted every injured passerby.
Wu Liang, meanwhile, still looked bewildered.
“Does it really work in ten minutes?” a middle-aged man, blood streaming from his arm, asked doubtfully.
“Watch the time yourself. If there’s no effect in ten minutes, I won’t take a penny.”
“All right, let’s try it!”
Xiang Nan examined the man’s wound—a shard of glass embedded in his arm.
He took out disinfectant supplies, removed the shard, sprinkled the healing powder onto the wound, then wrapped it with gauze.
At first, the man checked his watch, expecting to walk away after five minutes.
But seeing Xiang Nan’s skilled and professional technique, he was surprised.
Could he have encountered a master healer?
As soon as the medicine touched his wound, a cool sensation spread, the bleeding stopped, and a faint itch replaced the pain.
A minute or two later, even the itch was gone.
He unwrapped the gauze and found the eight-centimeter wound had miraculously closed.
“Holy crap! My wound is completely healed!”
The man jumped up in excitement.
“This is a miracle medicine! Absolutely miraculous!”
Watching from the sidelines, the other injured could wait no longer and crowded forward.
“Boss, I can’t take it—help me with the medicine!”
“I was here first—treat me first!”
“I’m still bleeding—have a little respect for your elders!”
Business at Xiang Nan’s stall was booming.
