Chapter 84: This Is Far Too Cute!

Inside the room, Su Yao was carefully examining her own body.

Then, with a thunderous crash, the door burst apart.

Wood splinters flew as Xiang Nan stormed in, fury blazing.

“Where is he? The adulterer! Where is he? Get him out here now!”

Xiang Nan’s eyes were red as he searched the room in all directions, yet no second person could be found.

Su Yao was utterly dumbfounded. Instinctively, she sat down against the corner of the bed and pulled the quilt around herself to hide her tail.

“Adulterer? What adulterer? Have you gone mad, Xiao Nan?”

Only then did Xiang Nan stop, his gaze settling on Su Yao in the corner of the bed.

Her long silver hair was tousled, untidy yet laced with a fierce wildness, and beneath that wildness was a hint of bashfulness that made her impossible to ignore.

But Xiang Nan had no mind for that. His eyes were fixed on the quilt covering the lower half of her body.

“Su Yao, still not admitting it, are you? What are you hiding under there?”

“That’s none of your business! This is my room, get out!” Su Yao snapped, anger rising too.

“I’ll catch you myself!” Xiang Nan lunged forward, reaching to yank away the covers.

How could Su Yao allow that? She struggled desperately to protect them.

“So there really is something fishy here. Look how flustered you are!”

After all, Xiang Nan was a boy, and far stronger than Su Yao. Grabbing her with both hands, he pulled, dragging her out from under the quilt.

“Xiao Nan, stop fooling around!”

Su Yao finally lost her temper as well. She brandished her little cat paws and scratched at Xiang Nan in a flurry, pushing him down onto the bed.

The pose was bizarre beyond words: Su Yao on top, pinning Xiang Nan beneath her.

Yet Xiang Nan’s gaze slipped past her body and froze on the tall, upright cat tail behind her.

“Holy hell! What is that? It’s adorable!”

His eyes lit up with stars, and he reached out at once to touch the fluffy tail.

The entire atmosphere shifted in an instant, and Su Yao was dumbfounded once more.

Reflexively, she scrambled up, refusing to let him touch her tail.

At the same time, she grabbed a little skirt beside her and hurriedly tried to put it on.

But her tail kept flicking upward from behind, making it impossible to wear properly. For a moment, Su Yao was thrown into a flustered mess.

“Want me to help?” Xiang Nan asked with a grin.

“Who said I was laughing at you? I’m happy, that’s all. Your tail is so cute—can I touch it?”

“You really think it’s cute?” Su Yao looked at him doubtfully.

“By heaven and earth, it’s beyond cute. It’s cuteness overload! Can I please touch it? Su Yao, I’m begging you, just once!” Xiang Nan held up one finger, pleading pitifully.

Seeing him like that, Su Yao could not help but laugh. “All right then, I’ll let you touch it once. Just once, though.”

“Yes, yes, absolutely.” Xiang Nan stared at her cat tail, practically itching with anticipation.

Su Yao turned around, giving him her back. She lifted her hips slightly, and the little tail reached out.

“Wow! This is way too cute! It feels amazing. I want to sleep hugging this tail every night!”

Xiang Nan stroked Su Yao’s cat tail with both hands, rubbing the fluffy tip against his own face over and over.

“You... don’t find it disgusting?” Su Yao asked softly.

“Disgusting? Are you kidding? How could it be?” Xiang Nan replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “Little wild cat, why didn’t you show off such a treasure sooner? You’ve been hiding it all this time—too stingy.”

“What are you talking about? It only grew because I’ve been cultivating so much lately,” Su Yao said after thinking it over. “Especially after I ate that Illusory Heaven Spirit Fruit you gave me, my cultivation speed increased tenfold, and my tail grew ten times longer too. But I don’t know how to put it away. I can’t exactly wander around dragging a tail behind me every day.”

Su Yao sprang up in exasperation. “Jiya, your heart’s wandered all the way into outer space! How am I the one bullying him? It’s clearly him bullying me, okay!”

When Xu Jiya stared at her in stunned silence, Su Yao looked down at herself as well.

Er... this outfit, and this tail completely out in the open—then remembering how she had just been pinning Xiang Nan down—Su Yao’s face instantly flushed bright red.

“Yao Yao, your tail... it’s grown longer again!” Xu Jiya stared straight at Su Yao’s tail.

“The longer it gets, the better. It feels amazing to pet.” Xiang Nan was still enchanted by Su Yao’s cat tail.

“All right. Brother Xiang Nan, stop playing around. Help Yao Yao think of a solution. She’s nearly frantic,” Xu Jiya said, coming over to tug at him pleadingly.

Xiang Nan pouted, then reluctantly let go of Su Yao’s cat tail.

“Looks like this isn’t quite beast transformation, not even partial beast transformation. It’s more like stunted development. I’m guessing your cultivation still isn’t enough, which is why you can’t control it freely,” Xiang Nan analyzed after a moment’s thought.

“Stinky Xiao Nan, you’re asking for death!” Su Yao’s cat paws flashed as she pounced at him.

“Aah! Little wild cat! Su Yao! Bite me if you can! Awooo—awoo—”

Watching the two strange creatures at it again, Xu Jiya could only sigh and shake her head.

“You two are far too childish.”
